The service was great. The pasta dishes were the worst we’ve ever had. I’ve lived in Rome for 3 years and I prefer al dente pasta. This pasta was so undercooked that it was like eating paste. The sauces were also very bad. We really wanted to like this restaurant. Unfortunately, the excellent service wasn’t enough to make up for such terrible food.

The food was absolutely delicious , typical italian cuisine served with dedication and kindness, i highly recommend it as a place to have lunch or dinner if you want to try local cuisine for a good price as dishes are on average 13€. My friends had tiramisu for dessert and were delighted by it. Thank you very much! If I revisited Rome I would certainly consider returning to La Canonica

I rarely leave negative reviews, but last night’s experience at La Canonica was poor enough that I feel compelled to share it so others can make an informed decision. We had a confirmed reservation for 9:00pm, yet on arrival we were told to join a long queue. It quickly became clear that the restaurant had accepted far more bookings than it could realistically accommodate. Having a reservation should mean something; standing outside waiting at that time of night completely defeats the purpose. When we were eventually seated, it was outside, despite the temperature being around 2 degrees. There were nowhere near enough heaters to make this remotely comfortable. Eating dinner in winter conditions like this is unacceptable and immediately set the tone for the evening. Unfortunately, the food did nothing to recover the situation. When it arrived, it was cold, poorly presented, and sloppy. It gave the impression of a kitchen under pressure and rushing dishes out simply to cope with volume

It was my birthday, and the server was so warm and welcoming. The food was fresh and so good that we went back.

The food was fresh and delicious, and the atmosphere was great. We visited on Christmas Day evening but prices were just the same as every day, and it was good value. Our waiter, I think his name is Marwen, was very helpful and attentive. Highly recommend.

Service (1st came the salads and then the plates, they didn't take the empty glasses and plates unless we suggested to), kind waiter Matteo. Food (average amatriciana & carbonara, caprese average, lasagna up to decent)

Not great. More American style with serving things such as Alfredo and very odd on mixing a marinara and pesto with ravioli.

Air con was freezing and the it was a bit chaotic in there but Manolo made the experience great with his friendly attitude!

Such a beautiful atmosphere. Fantastic food. Pleasant service. The Seabass was magnificent! This is my favorite restaurant in Italy.

Tourist trap, food was terrible, tasteless and overcooked made in bulk. Rushed by staff in order to finish dinner quick and leave so the next guest can come in.

Very tasty food. Nice presentation and quantity, everything was perfect. I will definitely come back. Highly recommended.

Yes, the ambience is the one good thing about the restaurant. But the food was average at best and the servers were border line rude. I overheard that the lady near me was overcharged and sent her bill back so I was more careful about my bill. They did the same added 2 limoncello to our bill when we hadn't ordered it. So be careful and check your bills.

Everyone visiting Rome should have a dinner at La Canonica. Nice atmosphere, great food and excellent service!

The food was very good service was fast and efficient. The only "but" we hate when waiters demand their tip, we always leave good tips, buy being force to leave it is something we hate.

It was a great experience! Was at friday night and trastevere was full of people, but they did everything pretty fast. We enjoyed the food.

Delicious food and very attentive wait staff. The lemon sorbetto in the lemon was delicious! Highly recommend this restaurant. We chose because we were staying in Trastevere but worth a visit.

Great food and quick service! We went on a Monday and it was packed. Had a reservation but not sure if it mattered or not we got lucky and picked out of line to sit outside.

Super cute outdoor patio. Great staff and service! Delicious, quality food. Super busy! The line went around the block. You will wait a Long time without a reservation. Make a reservation! You'll be glad you did.
