8.5/10We went back with trepidation, hoping the the return to form last February would continue after a previous disappointment. I'm happy to report that currently, in my opinion, this remains the best overall fine dining gastronomic option in the area. The chef is from the South, he has a page on the menu explaining why he serves seafood in the middle of the Alps, and I think his dishes really show his understanding and liking of this produce. The way he transformed a humble mackerel into a delicious and elegant dish, featuring escarole, beetroot and Jerusalem artichoke and presented in a way that you don't expect, is exemplary. The other main, a classic here, was a seafood and vegetable frittura, perfectly executed and equally delicious. Starters were an intensely tasting thistle (cardo) with high quality hazelnuts, and superb spaghetti with Cantabrian anchovies and candied lemon. Desserts, prepared by a dedicated person, were appealing. We only had space for a (revisited) babà, which showed a lot of thought behind it and hit all the right notes. I really like the cuisine of this chef. His dishes are nicely presented, inventive, and fulll of flavour. Service is young, friendly and professional, although a little under pressure. I should say it's an unusual and difficult room for a gorumet restaurant - it's part of a hotel and it sometimes attracts, as noted in other reviews, large and rather noisy groups, which undoubtedly detracts from the atmosphere. On the other hand prices are very reasonable for the quality: I guess one cannot have everything.

10/10Fantastic location in a beautiful Dolomites town. Great quality food and service at a fair price , definitely reccomended. Great venue , quality dishes and great service at a fair prices. Definitely reccomended.

10/10This was a fantastic experience. We were greeted warmly from the moment we arrived, and La Pajara also completely accommodated a change in our reservation an hour before dinner. Dinner was delicious, we ate from the a la carte section but wish that we could come back and try the tasting menu! Service was also great, everyone who worked here was so helpful. I would recommend this to anyone.

10/10A would describe the place a hidden treasure! I brought my family there for a special event and the overall experience has been really great! Warm and classy design of the restaurant area matching a comprehensive menu, considering both meat and fish! And the wine list is absolutely satisfactory. Definitely I will come back. Bravi!

AMBIENTE - Il ristorante Castel Pietra “La Pajara” si trova nel piccolo paesino montano di Transacqua, in provincia di Trento. È un locale raffinato, romantico e arredato in maniera elegante. È gestito da una famiglia giovane e molto competente nel settore della ristorazione. SAPORI RICERCATI – Lo chef propone alla clientela piatti sempre diversi ispirati alla tradizione locale ma ripensati in maniera diversa. Il pesce pescato in giornata cucinato alla griglia o adoperato per arricchire la pasta fresca è una delle specialità migliori della cucina. EVENTI – Sia gli spazi interni che quelli esterni sono ampi e ben si prestano per organizzare eventi di ogni genere: dai ricevimenti di nozze alle cene di gala aziendali.
