I was not happy with the fork - you promised to get 100 yums but I haven’t…

It's a very beautiful place, but very crowded: my pregnant wife was sitting in the aisle and got accidentally hit in the head with a tray while a server was passing through the tables (it was very light, thankfully). Service-wise, the servers were very courteous, but obviously overwhelmed by so many tables; when the main course came, they got my wife's order wrong and we had to share my plate for about 15 mins while they made the right dish. After we finished dessert, they offered her a complimentary cup of tea for the trouble, which we declined, but I suppose it was a nice gesture. I would recommend the place only on slower nights.

Very good restaurant centrally located in Brussels in a converted hardware store. They have an excellent selection of seafood and also many types of meat and fish. I had a lobster bisque, scallops and a dame blanche, and it was all very enjoyable. Also, cocktails are great and reasonably priced. The room is different and exciting; the service is friendly and efficient.

I didn’t really like my fish. It was was too salty, the sauce with caparis was ok but nothing spectacular. Creme brulee was very good. Service and atmosphere excellent.

We returned once again to La Quincaillerie but this time 30 years to the day from one of our first experiences. It is like time stands still but in the very best of senses - still great food delivered in a friendly yet entirely professional manner in a place that buzzes with atmosphere. In general everyone felt the food lacked flavor. My mussels were a bit over cooked and did not have any flavor in the sauce and it was disappointing.

Everyone was friendly, from entering the restaurant, throughout through evening and right up until leaving. The place has interesting history and physically looks very unique. Every plate and every drink I had was delicious and even the portion sizes are generous. I was solo travelling for just 2 days and could not have found anywhere nicer than this for evening dinner!

Brussels at his best! La Quincaillerie is a beautiful place with all the staff warmly welcoming you right from the entrance. I went there with my wife and my two sons after about 15 years of absence. I could remember it as a striking Art Nouveau styled place but not that much as a recommendation for food and service and I was very positively surprised by both. This time, I shall not wait for the next 15 years to come again.

The staff were welcoming and took time to explain and suggest dishes for us to share and sample the best of Belgian cuisine. The food was impeccably presented and the restaurant was a fine introduction for me to mussels and fries!

The service staff are very friendly and attentive. Service is fast. A lot of choices for food and drinks. The restaurant is huge so you still get some vibe of privacy per table.
