6.5/10Even though we like the restaurant and prefer to regularly visit, this time we were placed in a very unpleasant part of the restaurant and table; which seemed like it’s placed there for the occasion only. Disappointing part was, we had reserved 2 months in advance, and we arrived 5-10 minutes before our booking. We had guests from overseas and notwithstanding the overall good standard of food and services, the ambiance and experience were quite poor sitting under a staircase and beside the serving area. The restaurant, unlike our previous visits, sent us last minute notifications like ‘if you want to cancel, we are here to help’ messages; which combined with the placement, seemed like an overbooking situation.

9/10The restaurant was very welcoming. We enjoyed our meals which were of high quality, and although the price was a little high we felt it was reasonable for a special occasion. Our server was also quite attentive which is not easy to find in Belgium!

8.5/10I used to dine at the Quincallerie in the 90s and was nostalgic to see it again. The food is good,but not especially remarkable. Service is attentive and quick. The original decoration, which I quite liked, was drowned out by a lot of Christmas stuff. I requested a quite table and they accommodated us so the evening was enjoyable

10/10We found this brasserie on our first trip to Brussels during COVID and loved it then. A few years later when we came back, we made sure to come here, twice out of 3 days in Brussels. The food is amazing and the service is fabulous and the restaurant is beautiful. Try the Dover Sole- delicious and of course, the moules.

8/10Great atmosphere, super friendly and lovely staff. The food was good, oysters in particular were fantastic. However, a few points deducted because I found the Sole rather dry and the frites rather bland.

9/10Amazing decór and vibe Delicious food, especially seafood But very noisy, because it was full - right now it's very trendy If you leave the wine out of reach to be fresh, the glass cannot be empty for long, and that happened - please improve this point Strongly recommend the experience :)

7/10Nice vibe, interesting place, food was nothing special. We had a Burata that looked good but was not very tasty, a sole that was good but not anything extraordinaty, and a fillet steak that was unacceptable (not tender at all)

About the restaurant
BRASSERIE LA QUINCAILLERIE AT A STONE'S THROW FROM AVENUE LOUISE IN BRUSSELS.
It is located in a former ironmonger's shop in the Rue du Page in Brussels, designed by a student of Victor Horta. The Horta museum is just around the corner. Further in the neighbourhood, there's also the Place Chatelain, a melting pot of nice restaurants, boutiques and specialty shops.
In 1988, La Quincaillerie opened its doors. Many characteristic elements of the former shop were preserved. It gives that special character to the brasserie.The brasserie is located at a stone's throw from Avenue Louise and is the ideal base for those wishing to enjoy authentic cuisine.
And there are plenty of parking spaces in the surrounding streets and on the square itself.
