This is a cozy local restaurant run by attentive folks who make you feel super comfortable. Food was delicious and freshly cooked based on ingredients on the day. We had ham croquettes, sardines for starters and calamari and chicken for mains. A bottle of House wine (Rioja) to wash down the super well cooked dishes. Highly recommend if you want a small and local place to dine.

The owner turns this humble restaurant into a homestyle experience with a personable approach to each customer in this small tavern. The food is comforting, filling, and reasonably priced. His enjoyment of his work is easily evident and comes across in the food and service.

Unique venue of owner feeling all positions and having plenty of time to talk to guest, explain things in honest , direct conversation . Vanishing gem of personal , direct contact with guest. White table cloths. Honestly , I do not how long places like this will survive with good food ( northern Spain cuisine), not overpriced. No menu : chef in person will introduce option with clear information about prices. Thank you for tips on bread and napkins !

We had a wonderful experience at La Taberne Fe Paula. The owner, who is also the chef, was incredibly kind and welcoming. The dishes were authentic, traditional Spanish cuisine, cooked to perfection. Prices were reasonable, and the atmosphere felt warm and genuine. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy real local flavors.

The owner greeted us from the entrance and made us feel extremely welcome. He was most attentive and very kind. Food was very good and we enjoyed it. We will return!

Wonderful service, authentic local dishes, non-touristy ambiance. A fantastic, personalized dining experience. The best croquettes and desserts we experienced on our trip. The owner is generous in sharing ideas about Spanish cuisine and culture. Hope to go back one day - highly recommend!

A unique experience. More like being invited to a family dinner than going to a typical restaurant. Restaurant doesn’t seat many more than 20. Nothing is fancy. In addition to our table of five, there was only one long table celebrating a birthday. No written menu. Chef/owner - warm, friendly, and speaking good English - describes what is available. Tonight, it was four for five starters, an equal number of main courses, and three desserts. We had at least one plate of almost everything. It was all at least very good, including some things I would not usually order, such as sardines and tripe. The octopus was especially good. Other winners included a chicken with vegetables and cod. All the plates, which served family style in the middle of the table, were returned empty. All very reasonably priced, as was Uber from Centro and back.

We had the most wonderful dinner here. We are a family of 5 with 3 small children and the proprietor couldn't have been kinder or more helpful. And the food was spectacular! Simply prepared from the freshest of ingredients, we were so impressed by the whole meal. Very highly recommended!

La taberna de Paula exceeded our expectations in every aspect. The food was beyond delicious and the service was above and beyond. The chef truly loves what he does and enjoys sharing his food with the public. We found this place though internet search and thought the reviews couldn’t be all good… well some aren’t even close to describe this place! I’d recommend his food to anyone visiting Madrid.

+1I read the good review of La Taberna de Paula and wanna to try on our first day at Madrid. It is a small cozy restaurant at a quiet area not far from city centre. I appreciate the way Chef to introduce the menu of the night by himself....you can tell from his introduction of the menu full of expectations and his passion on food. We have a lovely dinner and will recommend friends to go in future.
