Lovely, quiet setting next to the water. The food, service and space was very relaxing. We never felt rushed or intimidated. Lars came out to greet us right away and was very sweet. We loved watching the younger chefs do their thing in the kitchen which was right in front of us! It was my daughter’s favorite dining experience of our trip.

Nice meet Lars himself. Quite an operation. Best part was the wine paring for the meal. Perfect. What an experience. Thank you.

It has been a wonderful evening. The food was superb; the combination of tastes, presentations plus the competent and empathic service is - from our perspective - beyond 1 Michelin Star level. Congratulations.

The restaurant was amazing , food was excellent. The staff were amazing apart from the head chef who was very strange. We were a young couple from England and because of our age the owner/head chef judged upon us in a negative manner. He asked for my age, where we were from and didn’t have an inviting personality. He clearly put on a fake Persona based on who you were. Overall very good, however if you come and look out of place the owner/ head chef will treat you in that way. Other than that everyone one else and the food was amazing. Highly recommend, just the head chef avoid.

Lars (Owner/Chef) wanted to make a amicable chat when he asked you if this was your first visit to Amsterdam. You responded with “When i was 18 years old” then he replied with the response: “So that was last year”. The comment was made from his side to give you a compliment and a informal way to connect with his guests. It was never ment to offend you in any way. We as team and Lars do apologize if this was the case. We think it's a shame that we only heard about this afterwards, also because you left the restaurant in such a positive way. We will keep in mind that guests something would prefer a more formal approach. Thank you again for your visit, feedback and we do apologize for the inconvenient start. Kind regards, Team Lars

brilliant and innoative dishes, competent service and nice wine list (has been better thought) - for me, one of the best dining experiences in Europe at the moment!

Chef himself came to greet us due to some misunderstanding with the reservation. They accommodated our special requests and tailored a special meal for our hunger level and were friendly and serviceable. Food was amazing! Beautifully served and very special! Only thing is the location is pretty far from the city if you’re a tourist coming from there, and its a bit hard to find on the second level of a hotel.

Fantastic service, beautiful dishes, great atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant. During daytime also a beautiful view on the Amsterdam harbour. Can’t wait to go back.

+4I thoroughly enjoyed all the courses and loved that all of them were both delicious and delightfully unexpected. Sometimes food can be experimental and different but not something that is truly delicious. Lars Amsterdam achieved the best fit between different and delicious, and I will recommend it to any friends who visit Amsterdam.

I booked a table to celebrate my partner's birthday, I chose Lars because of the interesting menu and the different location. The food was exquisite and the wine pairings were excellent; especially the spätlese merlot, an inspired choice for dessert. The staff were friendly and helpful, without being overbearing.

Overall, not a great experience. The good is average, portions are really small. Nobody offered me to won or asked me what I wanted to drink...No sweets offered next to coffee. There are better restaurants in Amsterdam and many better restaurants for the price they ask,

The food is as good as you can find anywhere. Exciting and exceptional quality. The staff are friendly and engaging whilst retaining professionalism and knowledge. The only negative is the location of the restaurant being some way out of town, but it is actually well worth the added miles!

The restaurant, offered a pleasant ambience and the service was good. We ordered the 11-course tasting menus, one vegetarian and one regular. While the presentation of the dishes was pleasing, the flavors often leaned towards unnecessary complexity, occasionally falling just flat. In summary, it was a decent dinner: we left thinking if extended tasting menus should still be a thing and if, even for technically skilled chefs, simply focusing on more balanced flavors would be a better strategy to create something memorable.

Good quality of fine dining. Simply the best in my trip. Waiting time was a bit long. Since it is far away from city center, need to allocate more time if you are planning to do something after the meal.

The food was fantastic, and was easily one of the best dining experiences we've had. What really sealed the deal though was the excellent service. The staff were very friendly, casual and just a lot of fun.

Lars Amsterdam is one of our favourite restaurants in Amsterdam. This visit reminded us once again why! We enjoyed the signature menu with matching wines, and everything was absolutely delicious. Apart from the dishes as mentioned in the menu, you can also expect excellent amuse bouches, a pre-dessert and home made chocolates which really completes the menu. The excellent wine pairing completed the experience. A nice extra is that the restaurant offers views over the Amsterdam Harbour, so you can see the ships and cranes while you are enjoying your diner. Not your standard Amsterdam canal view, which is a nice change of scenery. We'll definitely be back - thanks again Lars, Floor and team!

Great and creative Christmas menu in an evocative setting. However a nine course tasting menu shouldn’t take 4 hours to serve and staff seemed completely oblivious to our hints and eventually statements of discomfort.

Six course menu was surprising, nice combinations. Point of attention is the taste of the lobster. Because the supplements on the lobster (orange) was a bit covering the taste of the lobster itself. We will come again.

Warm welcoming, good ambiance. Menu with possibility of 4-6-8 courses, good idea. Excellent dishes, well prepared and served. Wine list not really rich but a few good european and us producers. Need to be improved. Good service even just slow we waited too much the dessert....
