The entire experience was amazing! We were warmly welcomed and had seats with a view of the kitchen and amazing views of the street and cathedral. There was a letter sealed with a stamp that had information about the starting course and wine information. We chose rhe 7 course plan and the food was simply fantastic! First impression, the staff was courteous and bubbly. It was my first time at a Michelin Star restaurant, so even though some of the dishes were outside my normal taste, it was an excellent experience! It was my first time having caviar, and even though my brain screamed it's going to be gross, my tongue said the opposite! It was the potato purée or maybe it was mash? with smoked eel and caviar was my absolute favorite! The sommolier (at least I'm assuming it was him) was especially engaging and a pleasure to talk to, but that doesn't lessen how nice the rest of the staff was. Even though English isn't their first language they tried extremely hard to ensure we understood each dish. Bravo and thank you!

Fantastic restaurant in a charming building in the centre of Strasbourg. The menu concept is 7, 9 or 11 course tasting menus. I went for the 11 courses, and every single one was delicious, beautifully presented and made from the finest ingredients. I would give the food 6 stars if I could. Wine pairings are excellent and good value. Service is very attentive, friendly and professional. Staff go out of their way to ensure guests have an excellent experience. I was seated on the top floor with a full view of the kitchen, which in my opinion is the best seat in the house. After many visits to 1741 I can, without hesitation, give this restaurant my very best recommendation.

This meal, which we enjoyed on Easter Sunday, was perfection from start to finish. We sat at a table by the window which was incredibly lovely. Every dish was beautiful, creative and absolutely delicious, and my husband rated it as the best meal he's ever had in all of France (and we've traveled to France many times). The wine pairings were equally superb, while the staff was friendly and attentive. Thank you to the Chef and staff for a memorable and wonderful dining experience.

This is the second time my wife and I have visited Le 1741 since June. Last time we had a 5-course dinner, and this time we had a 7-course lunch. And again, everything was even better than we had expected. Every dish in the course was delicious, with a delicate flavor and a surprising twist. In addition, the kind and welcoming staff and the homely atmosphere were something we had never experienced at other high-class restaurants. It's a shame that there isn't a restaurant like this near our home in Japan. Next time we travel to Strasbourg, we'll definitely make a reservation here.

We had a lovely experience from the start to the end. The host was very welcoming and friendly. We felt well taken care of. We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary, they brought us two candies which made it even special. The food was out of this world; utterly delicious. We have been to four other Michelin restaurants in France, including Paul Buccose in Lyon and this was for sure top notch. At 1741, we had a wonderful, mind-blowing time, as if we were traveling to an unfamiliar world. In particular, the flow from the white fish, through the soup, to the roast duck was truly wonderful. Next time we visit Strasbourg, we will definitely book this wonderful restaurant again.

The restaurant has two seating areas. The first floor is the main restaurant area. The second floor has high stools overlooking the Chef and kitchen which may be uncomfortable for older people to sit or move. Although it is interesting to observe the Chef and the kitchen, the second floor surely feels like a let down. Especially because the reservation team seems to be seating visitors from outside France and people booking online (e.g. through Fork) on the second floor.

Excellent restaurant in the centre of Strasbourg. Wonderful food, perfectly prepared from only the best ingredients. The 9 course tasting menu really demonstrates the skills of the chef and his team. The restaurant is in a charming townhouse near the river with very pleasant dining rooms on each floor. After a recent redecoration of the whole restaurant it is even more beautiful and inviting. Service is excellent, very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. This is my favorite restaurant in Strasbourg, and I highly recommend it.

This was our first time at 1741 and, to be fair, it was their first night re-opening after seven months of renovations. This might explain why they were off their game a bit. The seven-course discovery menu was alright, although it took almost four hours with long breaks in between each serving, some missteps in service, and with quantities that were appropriate but not more (let's say we were glad to have bread available). Overall, we've been accustomed to better with Michelin-starred places but, again, this might just be because it was their first day after a long break.

Excellent dining experience. We were led through the meal by our wonderful server Giacomo. He gave thorough explanations of the courses and wine and he was was friendly and attentive .
