+1Tucked inside the historic Palais des Papes square, Le Carré du Palais delivers not just a meal, but a moment. The location is superb, surrounded by Avignon’s architectural grandeur, with a terrace that lets you linger under the Provençal light. The food was great, reasonably priced. Although the wine bottle of Gigondas I ordered was disappointing, the waiter suggested that we could return. Eventually I did not. Since i did not he offered me 2 glasses of Hermitage. I cannot ask for more. We ordered the Grand Menu- Entrée+Plat+Dessert.

10/10The food was not only delicious but beautifully presented. Sit outside if you can. We had a view of the Pope's Palace. We were a party of 8 and everyone loved their meal!

Quick service, excellent food, great view. We had prawn salad which contain lots of prawns, fresh lettuce and sliced vegetables with a lime vinaigrette dressing.

Had a lovely diner! Friendly and thoughtful people. Great food and fine wines to go with every dish. And the location is marvelous! With view on the Palais the Papes. When I return to Avignon, I will go again!

7/10Great work in the kitchen. Food well put together and beautifully presented. Waiting staff felt quite odd for us: occasionally offhand, not always giving the appearance of competence, and a bit of clock-watching. The rest was great.

7.5/10The service was fine, nice and friendly staff. The food was good. The wine reseanable were too expensive though. For a 28 euro dish and then recommend a glass of wine for 24 euro is not reseanable. Also not very fair was that my menu had a cafe gourmand and I asked for a normal cafe and suddenly I was outside mu menu and had to pay more for less! I also ordered a normal Gigondas but got the most expensive one. Just not perfect. Okay was that they atmitted the unreasonableness of the cafe. In short, excellent food for the money, but a feeling of a too commercial management,

10/10What a lovely place to be! Fabulous view of the Papal Palace with the last rays of the sun on the stonework giving a golden glow - ooh, I’ve come over all poetic! Superb food, beautifully prepared and presented by lovely staff with good quality wine parings. Quite a small menu choice, but probably something for everyone (was quite surprised to see a burger on there, but there are a lot of Americans here! Oops, probably lost half my audience there!) Absolutely loved it!

10/10Loved sitting outside with a view of the Palais de Papas at a comfortable table with a white tablecloth. Great selection of wines. Interesting cuisine which is well presented. Particularly enjoyed my starter and dessert. I found my sea bass slightly undercooked for my taste but the rest was excellent. Highly recommend making a reservation.

10/10Our dinner at Le Carré on the 4th of June was amazing. This restaurant has a very talented chef. Everything that we ordered was perfectly and imaginatively prepared. The suggestions for wine paring were spot on. This restaurant is one of the best that we've been to in France.

Had a lovely meal with friends outdoors in the Bistro. The service was friendly and attentive. The meals were works of art and delicious. The sommelier helped us select a great wine also. The only negative was people smoking at their tables outside.
