Loved loved loved! Fun, small menu of beautifully-prepared food. Beer soup and butternut steak were amazing. And the Tellement Bon—c’était plus que tellement bon! Very accessible wine list. Most of all: a truly terrific waiter that made the experience perfect. Will be back!

The dining experience at "Le Petit Commines" was disappointing and did not match previous ratings in Internet by far. Although several dishes were good, most were below average in quality and in taste. Moreover, the wines offered are a) not very good and b) totally over-priced (factor 6 to 7, unacceptable from my point-of-view). Furthermore, the wine (a Bordeaux) was served in small water glasses! Regarding the service, my rating is 50/50: One of the two waiters did a good job, the other not so. Pertaining to the second waiter, I don't know, if he really enjoys his profession. The dining experience was also very stressed. Besides beeing accompanied by AC-DC, Pearl-Jam and Aerosmith during dinner (quite loud), it seems as though the owners are only eager to sell as many tables possible during the evening. I certainly would not recommend this restaurant to anybody.

But just some points that has to be clarified, for the wine you were on a St Emillion Grand Cru from bordeaux that did not have to breathe that's why you had small wine glasses, we never serve in water glasses as we have 3 sizes of wine glasses depending on them. For the price, the 6 factor would have been real if it was a 2019 one but you had the 2017 that is not anymore on the web and cost more that the ones you have seen. The food is good although whatever discount you think you’ll get the restaurant excludes large portions of the menu The wine list is weird, divided by price. The restaurant is clearly benefiting from the fork’s platform, you mostly hear English (few locals) It’s good food but at the price paid (around 100 euros with wine) there are many other options in Paris.

We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of this neighborhood bistro, and appreciated the attention to details such as sitting down with us to explain the wines and menu. Overall the food was excellent (especially enjoyed the amuse-bouche of butternut squash and carrot soup), but everything could have been served at a warmer temperature.

They were very friendly. The selection of the menu was poorly designed (I am a retired culinary instructor in US. The Veloute was very good. The fish lacked sophistication and flavor and was very small. The frites were limp (basic execution was poor) and the lentils were plain. Then, they did a "bait and switch" on the wine selection. We asked for 12 EU wines, There is not a wine list but they talk you through the wine choices. We had two glasses each. 21 EU not 12 EU on the bill. C'mon Paris, you can do a lot better! if the restaurant reads this, please credit back my CC the 36 EU. and make the Frites hot and crispy next time!

Great little spot. Service was great. The waiter, when we asked for wine recommendations, asked us very unique questions like "What type of perfumes do you like?" "More like water or more like cranberry juice?" and picked perfect wines for us. Highly recommended.

Service was way below expectations, stressed due to short staff clearly. Food was the most disappointing we have had recently as whilst trying to be creative, had no flavour and no taste. The original products were good but the way they were cooked made them of little interest, whether Swordish, Meat or the arrogant €28 Vegetarian that was just a bite. Desserts were no better as way too sugary and the attempt of a Paris Brest was another failure. The concept of service is interactive with the waiter picking wines from the list based on a simple q&a but that's pretty much the only thing we can give a big up to. Hopefully we had a 30% discount on the bill thanks to the Fork and that was much needed as this restaurant is a bit pricey when compared to French local brasseries that are on point both for service and food. I would not recommend this restaurant to any friend. It is also not kid friendly at all as the menu is the only proposal with no dedicated options.

Fish was not warm. Combination with strawberries was not liked by 3 table guests. Very pity, as previous visits were very good.

We had a fabulous evening at Le Petit Commines last night. Great little restaurant on a quiet street in the Marais. We sat outside on the terrace overlooking the street in gorgeous early summer weather. M. Papounet, the owner, is an entertaining, animated and convivial host with a passion for locally grown produce (including from his garden) and ethically sourced foods. Starters and mains were beautifully prepared (we didn't order desserts as jet lag overtook us) - the razor clams were an absolute highlight! M. Papounet also has the most inventive way of arriving at the perfect wine choices for the meal. It was a bit like being immersed in a personal performance art piece. The bordeaux that emerged from his series of evocative questions was excellent. We would have no hesitation in recommending Le Petit Commines to anyone seeking a relaxed and delicious meal in the Marais.
