10/10Service at an extremely high standard and the food was absolutely superb. We chose the set menu and shared each of the courses. In addition to the wonderful cheese plate and the Rum Baba, we decided to have the Crepes Suzette for a bit of theatre...and it did not disappoint. The ambience and decor of the restaurant is mesmerising. A must do for any visit to Paris.

10/10Review – Le Train Bleu Dining at Le Train Bleu is far more than a meal; it is an experience rooted in history, artistry, and refined gastronomy. From the moment you step inside, the setting commands attention. The soaring ceilings, gilded moldings, and monumental frescoes transform the restaurant into a living gallery. The walls are adorned with magnificent Belle Époque paintings depicting French landscapes and destinations, creating a rare atmosphere where heritage and elegance converge seamlessly. The service is exemplary: attentive without being intrusive, precise, and genuinely welcoming. The staff demonstrates a high level of professionalism, ensuring that each detail — from timing to presentation — is handled flawlessly. As for the cuisine, it lives up to the grandeur of the setting. The dishes are beautifully presented, executed with technical mastery, and rooted in French culinary tradition while maintaining refinement and balance. Each course reflects quality ingredients a

7/10The ambiance is Wow, wow, wow... but I was seated in the back, all I saw was a window the whole night, I made the reservation 1 month ago! And I also purposely booked a hotel near this restaurant. I had to get up a few times to take a good look at all the art on the ceiling and walls... I ordered a 3-course set menu, they brought my main course wrong twice! No apologies, just took my plate away and made me wait half an hour more while my husband finished his meal, when my meal came. And the waiter didn't know how to charge my credit card! Mistakes like that are not supposed to happen in this restaurants . Anyway, I still tip the waiter 10 euro, not sure if he derserves it. Will I return...not sure.

9/10Solid food, frustrating start. We arrived at 6:45 for a 7:00 opening, checked in... and then stood around for 15 minutes doing nothing. The restaurant was ready, we were ready, but they made us wait by the door until exactly 7:00 to be seated. My suggestion: if people are checked in and present before opening, just seat them. Don't make us stand there watching empty tables. It's a simple fix that would turn a 3-star entry into a 5-star experience."

7.5/10This was an excellent cultural experience which really give you an a feel to French culture and cuisine, the food was well prepared but nothing special. Services was excellent, and most importantly the ambiance was out of this world, highly recommended for anyone visiting Paris.

6.5/10We showed up early for 7pm resv dressed up for a romantic dinner in Paris's most beautiful restaurant. I asked the hostess if we could pick our table and pointed to a booth to the left. She said "certainly, you were the first ones here". What she DIDN'T tell us that we would sit there for over 30 minutes, alone, while everyone else with a 7pm reservation got service. At 7:32 a waiter from another section felt sorry for us and took drink order. At 7:40 a mgr came over and we explained that we had been there for over 40 minutes without service. We learned that the table was in a section that didn't open until 7:30. We were NEVER told that by the hostess. Our waiter showed up a few minutes later and must have been told that we complained because he was very short and not friendly. He eventually warmed up and we received proper service. The food was better than expected after reading reviews (langoustines excellent, filet was OK, lamb was very good) and the decor was beautiful

Dear Mrs Lisa Fields, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We sincerely apologize for the disappointing start to your evening. Waiting over 30 minutes without service — and without being informed that the section would not open until 7:30pm — is not acceptable. We understand how frustrating this must have been, especially for a special, romantic dinner. We will address this lack of communication with our host and service teams to ensure it does not happen again. We also regret that your initial interaction with the waiter felt unfriendly. That said, we’re pleased to hear you enjoyed the langoustines, the lamb, and the décor. We truly appreciate your balanced feedback and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again for the seamless experience you deserved from the start. With best regards

8/10Good tradional French food in a beautiful setting. Service is friendly but unpolished. Try it once for the experience but overpriced for what it is good and service wise.

10/10Five stars! I don't speak French, so ordering at a French restaurant can sometimes be hard for me. The team here was incredibly patient and friendly. They helped me order everything from the food to the wine, making sure I got something I would love and right portion for just 2 persons. The food was great, but the amazing English-speaking service made it even better."
Le Train Bleu • Owner
Dear Siegfriend Lau, we thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear that our team made your visit easy and enjoyable, helping you choose both the food and wine perfectly for two. It’s wonderful to know that our attentive, English-speaking service added to your experience. We look forward to welcoming you back for another memorable meal! Best regards

4.5/10The service was not attentive. My dinner was wrong (they brought me the appetizer instead of the main course). While they corrected it, they seemed annoyed. They then brought me the salad and cheese course afterwards, however my husband was still waiting for his main course. We inquired but they assured me it was correct and would be brought afterwards. So we did not eat together which was odd and wrong. The meal was just ok. It was disappointing because we heard such great things and it was expensive.

8/10My partner had considerably more success than I. For the record she ordered a salad (ok), the scallops ( excellent) and the kumquat souffle (also excellent). For my part the four gras was relatively bland, the veal with black truffle bore no evidence if truffle. and the pressed apple creme brulé should have been rethought.

10/10We visited Le train blue during our trip. The service was amazing, and we enjoyed the food. My girlfriend had the steak which was cooked perfectly to her liking and I had the chicken which was cooked to perfection. We will be back for sure on future visits

9.5/10The restaurant looks amazing. The food was really good. We ordered one of the menus and it was amazing that even the 'side' dish felt very special. All in all we had a good experience. At the end it took a bit before we got the check cause they were busy preparing for the dinner round. That's why it is a 9.5 but I feel like I am very judgy if I would make a big thing out of that.

10/10The decor is sublime, this is the second time my wife and I have been. the Maitre D was a master of his trade, the rest of the team are all hard working and polite. Excellent main dishes, and dessert it was exquisite, a cointreau and Cognac after the meal to round it all off. Two hours of discussion and degustation. Very enjoyable, €250 well worth it. Thank you Train Bleu.

9/10Le Train Bleu rates as one of my most memorable dining experiences. It’s a magnificent building and the food, staff and wine didn’t disappoint. I shall remember the scrumptious kumquat soufflée and sorbet forever!! I hope to return there again. Anne McGrath, Irish lady.

6/10The place is actually amazing from the architecture, wall paintings and sculptures. You only can imaging what an elegant place this must have been 100 years ago! Unfortunately nowadays this is only a tourist attraction for especially tourist groups. They even roll cloth racks in the middle of the room. According to photos we dressed up nicely and it turned out that we were totally overdressed… Last not least we got a bad located table, because the good tables were occupied by better paying tourist groups. So this place is great for groups, but go for an romantic evening somewhere else. Paris has some amazing restaurants where you can still smell the elegance of former times. Train Bleu is an example how you can turn an amazing space into a cheap attraction.

10/10This must be one of the most beautiful restaurants in the world. The food is wonderfully traditional, and when the tradition is French bistro that’s a very good thing, well cooked and served with panache. Perfect if pricey

6/10Food good. Staff, in particular male staff had no social skills whatsoever, they only spoke to ask us what we wanted from menu and plonked the food down snootily. As we left we thanked them and said goodbye and they just stared back at us condescendingly. We left a good tip, more for the food than anything else but on reflection wev should have reduced it for the inhospitable and unfriendly service. We will not return. Terry
