This once iconic restaurant has fallen prey to its hype. It was once our staple for any Paris visit but now it is overpriced and the food incredibly mediocre. This visit gives lie to the axiom that you can’t get a bad meal in Paris. The nadir of the visit was ,when going to the bathroom, you have to pass through the “boutique “ selling the restaurant’s merch. After many years and visits, we are firing it.

I visited 25 years ago with my parents and returned with my daughters to the same exceptional service and food.

Amazing atmosphere inside. So much history and buzzing with delicious meals being delivered and people coming and going. Waiter was attentive and efficient but didn’t hurry us in the least. Escargots were large and delicious. I wanted more. Scallops with risotto melted in your mouth. Burger perfectly cooked with Comte spread. Apple dessert amazing. Highly recommend.

Drinks are very overpriced! Services was slow Tables crammed together Bathroom was nice!

We booked this for our first night in Paris . The food was nice enough but a bit overpriced I thought . It was a nice clean restaurant, I think it lacked atmosphere . It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t amazing either .

Deux Magots is an iconic brasserie that I always make sure I visit whenever I’m in Paris. Whether it’s a glass of champagne a beer, or a meal it’s worth the higher prices . You can watch the world go by in the popular St Germain area, savour the sites and admire the beautiful church opposite. In my opinion, it’s unmatched in its historic charm, style and location. The menu has a huge selection to choose from to suit all tastes. It makes one of the best Croque Madame sandwich in Paris (toasted cheese with béchamel sauce with an egg on top. A big plus for me is that you can be sure you’re getting authentic meals . So if you want to avoid too touristy, overpriced food, this is your place! Highly recommended!

Evening menue doesnt have chevre chaud salad, only before 17h, too bad I really wanted it. My guess is that the restaurant is trying to become less tourist and cater more to a local crowd with set habits, fair enough. Still a charming place

I frequented this restaurant in the 70s when I spent some time living here in Paris. The place remains incredible, with a nostalgic and very pleasant atmosphere. The food has always been and continues to be very good, with honest prices, nothing exaggerated. I recommend going outside of peak hours or, even better, making a reservation, which can be done through The Fork website. 26/02/2026

The staff was lovely we had the famous chocolate which was lovely not too sweet or chocolaty.

While it was empty, we were seated in the semi detached cafe area, not the main hall.

I thought I would be going just for the history of the place. Pleasantly surprised by the nice menu, good service, and pleasant ambiance. I would be delighted to return.

+1The food taste delicious, Service was very good , friendly enough staff and not too long to wait although it was very full as usual . Would have preferred not to go downstairs with my bad back for the bathroom though .

The parm and truffle sauce was excellent—rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. The truffle flavor was aromatic without being overpowering, and the parmesan added a deep, savory finish. Easily the highlight of the dish and something I’d happily order again. The duck was also exceptionally. Perfectly cooked—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. Every element worked beautifully together, making it an unforgettable dish. Staff was great very attentive and friendly.

We made a reservation inside the restaurant but they gave us a table on the closed terrace where was very very cold

I liked my Salmon Club. My husband got a salad and it was good, nothing special. Would I eat here again, most likely no. It was expensive and no where near as good as so many other places we ate in the 3 weeks we were in Paris.

Had high expectations for this legendary restaurant, but the quality of the food did not match the cost or outside ambience. As soon as we sat down and saw the menu, we decided to skip a meal and just do a drink as to not be rude. However, the staff was professional. There are so many other amazing cafes with better people watching and less expensive (but very delicious! ) menu items.

Fantastic service, excellent suggestions and efficient delivery. was able to make suggestions not only on the food and beverages in our 2 languages but also was able to make suggestions about the timing. Was pleasantly surprised that the cafe with so much attention still has such a high quality of service and food. We will return.

Our time at Les Deux Magots was outstanding. The food was great, the service very good and the wine was even better. Y recommend the Risotto with Prawns!
