2/10Our ordered meal arrived 40 minutes later. My choice (veal was raw). Asked for the manager who attended reasonably promptly and agreed with what we said. An extremely rude member of staff who actually laughed for some unexplained reason when I complained initially. Never again. Booked this on previous good reviews.

8/10A bit more explanation of the dishes would’ve been good and as we were outside there was a guy who smoked 3 cigarettes right beside our table, not much could be done about this inconsiderate individual who wasn’t at the restaurant.

10/10The chef is clearly a food artist. Each dish was surprising in presentation and taste. The combination of ingredients elevated a common dish to a new level. The service was attentive, pleasant and helpful. We sat on the out door patio which was enjoyable.

9.5/10Portion sizes were perfect for trying a lot of dishes, sharing some, keeping others all for myself. Eggplant flan, Ravioli and lamb were my favorites. Servers were attentive but not overbearing. Pace was just right.

10/10Great evening with excellent value dinner. Attentive waiters also with family including one child on special diet (we brought ourselves). A most enjoyable last evening in Stresa and by far the best meal we have eaten here.

9.5/10This beautiful restaurant was a great discovery. The food was delicate and delicious, especially the beef steak, which was medium rare and exquisitely tender. The recommended red wine was also perfect. I recommend making a reservation.

3.5/10We had high hopes for this restaurant but the food was so disappointing- the sea bass wasn’t that warm and quite chewy and the potatoes were soft and cold. The lake fish terrine starter I had was nice but definitely not worth the cost of the meal and staff weren’t very attentive. Was a shame as it was my bday and no real atmosphere

10/10We felt so welcome as we arrived in Stresa just 30 minutes prior to dining after over 20 hours of travel. The staff had smiles on their faces, helped us understand the menu and foods/wine of the region. The food was magnificent. Our picky eating son loved their steak and potatoes and our older son, the lamb. My wife and I loved the gnocchi and pasta. We loved it so much, before we left, we reserved a table for dinner on Christmas Day, just 2 days later. We all hope to return again someday and are thankful for their kind attention. Well done. They really seemed to enjoy what they do.

10/10We had a delicious dinner on Christmas Eve. They had also vegan choices on the menu and were flexible to veganise other options on the menu. Service was also very good and the food creations were new. I can highly recommend Lo Stonello.

7/10The food was good but nothing special. The portions were inconsistent and also are not like the pictures viewed before visiting. It was more commercial in atmosphere and lacked a relaxing atmosphere. Ate at places for less for what was provided

3/10I was served the same sauce for entree as a soup and for the main ravioli. The waiting time between the entree and the main was over an hour. We started dinner at 19:30 had to leave at 22:30. We had to ask the waiter three times for our main ravioli which was probably already prepared (and would only take 5 minutes to boil). The server continued to ignore our request and serve other customers before us. We decided not to order dessert.

10/10We were on our last day of vacation in Stresa and we couldn’t have had a better meal. We had a very hard time choosing so we opted to be Italian and have all the courses. Surprisingly, it ultimately was not too much. Everything was absolutely delicious. The staff was attentive and helpful. One of our servers made excellent wine choices. It was altogether a great way to end our trip!

3/10I don’t know how this place rates a 4 1/2. This was a very disappointing, dining experience. The four of us adults we’re looking forward to this based on the ratings, but the actual experience was a letdown. For instance, we had to remind the waiter at the beginning to give us a wine menu when he came to ask for our food order. The missteps here were many that created a very poor experience for our party of 2 couples. One couple ordered a salad to start. They other ordered only a main course. The salad was delivered at the same time that the other couple had their main course. Despite finishing the salad, none of the 3 outside waiters noticed that the main course had not followed the salad. Although the other couple politely ate very slowly, the main course wasn’t delivered until 25 minutes after they had completed their main course dinner. Besides the ill-timed and slow service, not one of the three waiters outside synchronized our service, although all 3 had a part in it. That was just the service problem. The food here is mediocre and we would not recommend this dining place given the many options in Stresa.

3/10We wait over 15 minutes to make an order as the waitress kept asking us to wait. We tired to ask different waitress for three times then finally they asked us to wait for the waiter to come in order to make an order. It’s really ridiculous. We expecting the food is good so that we could forgot their ignorance. However, the food is really below average as the steak texture is too chewy and totally not worth the price. I feel really disappeared.

10/10We enjoyed our final evening in Stresa with a lovely "date night" at Lo Stornello. The food was terrific and we loved seeing others celebrating a good meal and the company of family and friends.
