6.5/10Great food, nice surroundings but the waiter exaggerated with the wine recommendation. When most wines by the glass are 4.5 euros if you are going to recommend a wine at least make the customer aware that it is a 9.5 euro glass (60€ bottle). Other than this I can recommend.

+1We just enjoyed an amazing (Thanksgiving night) meal in the lovely city of Stresa, Italy. Just a few minutes walk from our room, we found @ristorantelostornellostresa, the perfect choice. We started with 1. Piedmontese beef tartare with hazelnut cream and local cheese fondue 2. Potato gnocchi** scented with porcini** mushrooms, veal reduction, pumpkin, mountain pine powder and Vigezzo Valley pancetta 3. Veal loin cooked at low temperature and sautéed in aromatic butter, lard-based condiment with parsley, smoked potatoes gratinated with Bettelmatt cheese 4. Semifreddo forest bianca with white chocolate, fresh currants, raspberries, blackberries and gooseberries 5. 10/10Lo Stornello continues to impress with its consistently high-quality cuisine and warm, professional service. The atmosphere is refined yet relaxed, making it perfect for an evening in Stresa. Each dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavor, showcasing both creativity and respect for local ingredients. The wine list remains excellent, with thoughtful pairings that elevate the meal. A reliable favorite and a restaurant we’ll happily return to again.

10/10An epic meal! This restaurant, which provides fine dining in a bistro setting, is totally deserving of its Michelin accolades. Every dish in every course was special and superb. My first course – a mushroom soup with chestnuts – was probably the best soup I have ever tasted. There is a section of the menu devoted to vegetarian offerings, and the beetroot felafel did not disappoint. The semifreddo with cherries was the perfect ending to a perfect menu. The waitstaff were all friendly and knowledgeable and recommended an excellent wine. Given the high quality of the dining experience, we were also pleasantly surprised at the reasonable price for such fantastic food.

10/10The service was wonderful, especially Domenico. They were attentive without being pushy. Very friendly and very professional. The dorata was perfect, as was the riso. The homemade gnocchi was delicious with just the right amount of sauce.
