10/10The food was very good specially the “Caracoles” were delicious. The service was quick they were very polite and helpful. It was very nice that you could see how was your paella was prepared !!!

10/10This is a classic in Barcelona. Great food, and above all, Excellent service. It's not inexpensive, but you'll get quality. If you're a meat-eater, try the Chuleton for 2.

4.5/10The second dish came 1h 15 minutes after finishing the first, and only because we protested. It's the first time I have a bad experience in this restaurant. I guess just the waiter forgot us.

9/10The food and atmosphere were terrific. We were seated in the kitchen area Our initial waiter was unhappy we didn’t order bottled water …I asked for tap water…and later he reluctantly served it. He brought our wine, poured the first glass, then never served us again. The manager brought our starter and main dish, we had to hunt down someone for the check….food great, service disappointing…

8/10What an extraordinary restaurant! We were very excited about our adventure to such an old establishment. Walking through the kitchens was a great start! Then through a myriad of intimate, atmospheric rooms until we were shown our table which was in a large room with a main service hatch area and steps to the loos. We were the only guests in there for most of the night. There was no atmosphere at all which was such a shame. Our waiter was delightful and the food came quickly. I would say that we had far far better food in other restaurants in Barcelona at considerably less cost. Here, you pay for quirkyness and old age not amazing food. Personally, I don’t need to go back.

3.5/10It was too chaotic. The waiter was running around and only spoke to us a few times. My husband spilled water on the table and the waiter wouldn’t get us a dry tablecloth. I asked waiter 3 times for a dry napkin & finally got one from another worker. Bread never came to table. My husband’s beef medallions were terrible but my cod was just okay. We couldn’t get out of there fast enough. The building is beautiful though.

fantastic old restaurant setting, in very lively neighborhood. great job jamon iberico and snails (Caracoles), loved the sucking pig. Paella tasty , slightly oversalted. Great wine selection.

5.5/10I’ve been coming here since the early 1980s. Both privately and hosting small business dinners. It has been ‘touristy’ for decades, so that wasn’t the issue. The food was ok. The service polite, but slightly less than ok. And the atmosphere just felt like it had lost something. I think I’m done.

The food was delicious, the service was amazing the restaurant was very clean, We always eat here when we come to Barcelona , it’s an amazing experience in one of the oldest restaurants, We couldn’t complain about anything, it was perfect xx

+3Of course, I had to try the caracoles, e.g. the snails. I have to say that I am not a big fan. I really didn't like the brown sauce and it was a huge plate for one person. The chicken was quite nice. I would like to go back and have the cochinillo (suckling pig) or the cabrito (kid). The service was very good. I sat right next to the open kitchen.

Everything about our visit to los Caracoles was memorable and perfect! The food was excellent, the ambience was wonderful the place is so charming and warm and cozy inside with all the different spaces, it's a place that you just want to linger along after you have finished your dinner. We went there on a recommendation from a friend who said it was one of his favorite restaurants and it did not disappoint. We will definitely return on our next visit to Barcelona!

7.5/10The place is well worth a visit because of its history, however the atmosphere is not as welcoming as you would like. Despite having a reservation and being on time, you may have to queue inside to be seated by the lady managing the tables who takes your name without a smile. Your presence upsets the waiters who cannot move around in the narrow space between the bar and the kitchen. Once seated, be prepared to wait a long time before receiving your dishes, that will be served barely warm. Our roast chicken, steak and codfish were good but the French fries were soggy. The overall experience was just average.

7.5/10My wife and I have been here before and brought some visiting friends this time. I didn't catch it on the bill last time we were there but the bread they put on the table without asking is not free. It shows up on the bill at almost 2 euro's a bun. So not only is it not cool to put bread on the table without asking. as if it was free, but it is more then twice the cost as our local bakery. Very deceiving! We will not be going back.

4/10This used to be a great restaurant in great rooms, but the food now is awful. Dry chicken no taste, bouillabaisse no taste, paella dry and dark, good ansjovies and padron peppers, snails in a brown sauce not tasty. It took a long time to order and get our food. They did not even ask why we did not eat much of the dishes, so they knew what they were serving. One young servant was nice. We will not be back.

10/10My wife and I ate at Los Caracoles, she had cuddlefish with asparagus and an appetizer of gaspacho; and I had snails and and appetizer of anchovies. The anchovies were the best I had ever had. Our server was excellent and when he heard that my last visit to Barcelona and Los Caracoles was 49 years ago, he brought the owner to our table. The owner was most gracious. Our dining experience was a highlght of our trip to Barcelona.

The food quality was good but not different to other good restaurants in Barcelona. The croquetas were just average but paella was nice.
