10/10Backstreet gem of a place. Superb host, friendly and informative. Made great wine suggestions. Clearly have a super chef as the food was delicious and so well presented. Would return again and highly recommend

10/10Just kind and attentive service. Cozy atmosphere with some fun music and the kitchen singing along. Strong submissions by chef. Best meal of our ten night Italy vacation

10/10Lovely restaurant away from the main crowds over looking the canal. Staff were all very friendly and the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend it if you’re in Venice!

6/10Considering the reviews, was disappointed. “Roasted potatoes” wasn’t roasted enough, and came out of the kitchen barely warm. Wine pour was very skimpy. Even with a reservation we were being steered to another indoor seating area 40 ft away ( outdoor not really an option because of the weather). Had much better food and service at another restaurant the night before.

10/10Very welcoming. Excellent food and a very well curated wine list. We enjoyed our meal and the very good bottle of Venetian Pinot Nera.

7.5/10We visited Luna Sentada for lunch. The setting was lovely, Located on the canal with outside seating where you can people watch and watch the gondolas go by. The staff were friendly and attentive. We chose this spot based on reviews. However I’m sorry to say the food was nothing special and very over priced for what it was (bearing in mind this location is off the tourist path and you are unlikely to stumble upon it). I had a nice but over priced caprese salad at €19. My husband had a pizza which was average and more like bruschetta. Beers & wine by the glass options were nice and reasonable. We were also charged €4 each for the ‘coperto’ (cover) which seemed excessive. We are used to paying a cover charge but not per person and not €8. We dined in a number of excellent restaurants for lunch and dinner throughout our stay in Venice and spend alot of time researching and choosing options so it was disappointing to have visited here for lunch as the food lets it down in my opinion.

Dear Allison, Thank you for your visit. We are surprised to read your comments, especially since we had reserved for you the best table along the canal – a truly magical setting that many envy – and at the end of your lunch we also offered you our traditional Venetian biscuits. Our pizza is not bruschetta, but the result of careful research: selected type 1 and 2 flours, natural sourdough, and certified DOP products. The coperto is not a simple extra charge, but includes unlimited bread and cotton-linen napkins, as well as other details that make the experience more refined. Being off the main tourist path is not a drawback but a value: we are proud to offer an authentic and enchanting corner of Venice. Kind regards, The Luna Sentada Team

10/10+1Amazing wait staff, the location was cool with a view of the gondolas going past but also quiet enough to enjoy the dinner. Awesome recommendations of both food dishes and wine which were on point. Food selection was stunning and difficult to narrow down to one possibility. So good we will try again. Little bar next door is also worth a try beforehand.

5/1079.50€ ($92.35) for the following: 6€ cover charge for 2 people 4€ for acqua naturale 19.50€ for baked scallops that were tiny, overcooked, and nearly flavorless (canestrelli gratinati carciofini di lagu...) 18€ for eggplant parmesan that was a very small lukewarm nearly flavorless square (parmgiana di melanzane) 19€ for a bland caesar salad 13€ for 2 glasses of cal. venis wine, which was pretty nice. Conclusion. DON'T eat here! Just come for a glass of wine. There are nicer canal views with much better and less expensive food. Also, although our server was nice, he never replaced the broken pepper grinder we pointed out.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review — we’re sorry your experience didn’t meet your expectations. Just to clarify: canestrelli are not scallops but a smaller local shellfish from the Venetian lagoon, served here with curry for a delicate balance of flavor. Our eggplant parmesan follows the traditional recipe, with double-fried eggplants, and is served in a single portion. As for the prices, they reflect the average for Venice’s historic center, considering ingredient quality and our canal-side location. We do apologize for the pepper grinder — a small oversight on our part. We hope to welcome you again and offer you a more enjoyable experience. Warm regards, Roberto Pepe
