10/10Modern takes on the Traditional. Good flavours. Nice option if you want a more focused Rijstaffel as it's not too overwhelming. I still over-ate. Desserts and Cocktails were Amazing.

10/10Great experience. Friendly, professional staff, nice atmosphere and above all, excellent food. Restaurant was busy, especially for a week night. We wanted to try the Rijsttafel but the only question was whether two servings would be too much for us. Our waiter helped us and we opted for one serving, with extra stay sticks - chicken, mushroom and tofu, to share. Food was quickly served and we enjoyed every single dish. The sauces and accompaniments had a depth of flavour that set them apart. We had previously tried the dish at another restaurant and it was hit and miss. The open kitchen at Mama Makan was also interesting and all the staff were friendly. All in all, a great experience.

5.5/10Horrible experience in this restaurant. The waiter forgot us for an hour between the starter and the dish. When the dishes arrive, one is missing. Out of the question of waiting another hour. He offers us to offer us the coffees when we have not yet ordered the desserts. Finally we never had the dessert menu. Arrived at 7 p.m. ends at 10 p.m. without dessert or coffee. The waiter did not have the courage to bring the bill, it was his colleague who came. The next day we talked about it at the hotel reception. The manager had to contact us... we've been waiting for two weeks... advice go there for the food not for the service

8.5/10Good restaurant, I know they meant good and check if everything is all right, but the harnessing of asking all the time if everything is ok/good, sometimes it feels too much. Chill out and let the people enjoy their dinner/conversation :) The portions are small and mains dishes doesn’t come with a side (rice, vegetables or whatever), this is a minus. But the taste is great!

8/10pros: The food was very good and the ambience is very cozy.cons: the price for a bottle of water ( spa brand which you find in the common supermarket) is 7 euro, I found it definitely overpriced. The service can be improved, the maitre seemed to be angry at our waiter.

Amazing food but a bit expensive (actually the drinks were expensive such as 18 for a cocktail or 10 for a glas of wine). Really enjoyed the food and with the fork discount this deal was amazing! The coconut dessert was one of the best desserts I had in a very long time

8.5/10Owner was really kind and respectful, he even got our coats from the hanger and let us wear which was a humble gesture. Although waitresses were always asking what we want to drink, or do we want any dessert or simply did we like the meal etc. We were having trouble just having a conversation. At some point we felt like they want us to leave although it has been only 40 minutes. Other than that food was ok but portions could be bigger.

8/10Nice place, warm welcome and good service. For those who love Indonesian cuisine, this is the place to eat. We tried and were not fond of this part of the world cuisine, so it was fine. If you don't have TheFork discount, it is rather expensive for what we had.

Every dish was sweet. Starters arrived relatively quickly but when it got busy we received the rijstafel only after an hour. The food was bland and one of the shrimps was uncooked. Chicken had a funny smell. Upon finishing the meal the waiter asked us how was it and i said about the shrimp and he wanted to replace but it was already a bit too late. I don’t like to say this but even with the 50% discount the experience was not worth it. The management, please make regular quality checks and make sure that you are serving your guests well.

6.5/10food ok but not great quality or flavourful. portion size of all bowls on the small side for 4 people and the satay skewers were very small and only 1 each . Not great value for money at €45 per person.
