9.5/10Visited Mamma Gina on my first trip to Florence in 1985 and have been back many times. Two blocks from the Ponte Vecchio, it tends to attract more locals than tourists.

4/10This trattoria is supposedly part of the much admired '50's cooking tradition of Tuscan cuisine in Florence...sadly now its its not even a shadow of what it may have been once. I had been here many years ago & I wasn't impressed then .. so why go back ? I'd noticed recently the menu listing outside included an old fav of mine that has gone way, way out of fashion.., CANNELLONI! So out to lunch today I went > firstly it isn't cooked as described on the menu ..listed as a beef dish ..it was something resembling aged leftover spinach & ricotta..with a very ordinary meat sauce ON TOP. CANNELONI is traditionally stuffed pasta tubes, oven-baked in a sugo sauce.. I was presented with a pair of reheated stale & sagging tubes of limp "something" .. so soft & overcooked they more resembled tired crepes being regrettably represented than fresh pasta shapes with any taste or texture ..a shamefully lazy --& very expensive disgrace priced at a whopping E17! Thank goodness for Fork -30%!

6/10Great service. Is July but the restaurant was very uncomfortable hot. Three wines on the list were not available. The one recommended was very average. The steak was good, but sides were very pedestrian and not very good. Other better choices it is painful to say.

2/10The manager of this restaurant is racist, the service attitude is extremely bad, and he makes it difficult for our customers from China, not letting us talk at the table, not even letting us drink water at the table, and finally the quality of the dishes is very low, please don't come

7.5/10Heard about this from a cousin who had visited 6 years ago. Variety to the menu was great. The Poll with cognac cream and mushrooms was excellent. The zucchini flowers needed some Marinara sauce. The truffle ravioli was fantastic. The waiters were attentive, maybe a little too much so. Felt a bit rushed

10/10Valentino was our waiter and he was absolutely amazing! He suggested meatballs and the steak for 2 with a chocolate covered cream balls for dessert. Everything was 10 out of 10 and he was the nicest person and made this experience made it the most authentic we have had in all of Italy.

10/10Typical and pretty classic-elegant florentine restaurant. Prices are aligned to the quality, also considering the strategic location, a few steps from the Ponte Vecchio. Food was amazing. Service was professional. If you want to experience the great local meat like Fiorentina, Scottona etc...keep in mind that in Tuscany they like to cook it more like "medium rare", and they are right cause its awesome and its tradition, then for anybody used to have it "well done" its better to specifically ask when you order.
