The food is just spectacular, one of the few authentic Italian restaurants left in Florence. Hands down my favorite and go to restaurant whenever I’m in town. A very simple menu, with Tuscan specialties, you can taste the quality in the ingredients used.

The food is below average. The service is not friendly at all. Definitely the tourist trap.

We have been enjoying Mama Gina’s for around 20+ years with business colleagues and friends. We heard a rumour that it had changed hands and wasnt so good. However happy to say everything is as it was the Ribolitta is still magnificent - service good and the atmosphere i would say slightly improved with more subtle lighting - or maybe i just imagined that??? Anyway - we will add MG back to our list of favourite places in Florence!!!

People were friendly and unassuming; the Bistecca was to die for; all our dishes felt like they were made in our home kitchen; truly felt like a true home cooked meal rather than a tourist attraction

Mamma Gina has been a favorite of ours for the last three years. No trip to Florence is complete without enjoying the Osso Buco, the Mamma Gina's chicken, the lightest gnocchi in Tuscany and the reasonably priced wine list. The staff are very authentic and are kind & patient with tourists--which sometimes isn't the case in Florence. We just love it there and look forward to our next visit

We felt like we were eating at home. The staff were friendly and helpful with our selections. We were given a taste of Ribollita and it was delicious. Our pasta dishes were excellent. We would visit again on our next trip to Florence.

I searched for a place with good reviews and made a reservation, and even though I went alone, I was able to enjoy a very pleasant meal. The weather was cold, but the Florence-style minestrone was wonderfully warm, comfortingand delicious.

While the food was exceptionally delicious and the service was top notch, I didn’t like to be seated at the back because I was a tourist. It didn’t feel like an authentic experience and was separate from everyone else.

Our server was helpful and patient with us. The menu was typical for Florence and everything we ate was delish! The restaurant was close to Ponte Vecchio bridge making it easy to find. We had a lovely time and we would go back.

The service, the ambiance, and food was great! This was our first time eating there and will NOT be our last! I had the pappardelle with boar sauce and my wife had the pici with ragu both sauces were excellent but the ragu was by far The best I ever had!! The house red wine at 18 euros was also excellent. Do not miss going here when in Florence, The server Antonella was excellent and helpful with food selection!

Mamma Gina’s is a lovely ristorante, with excellent food and attentive service. We had a variety of appetizers, soups, salads, and entrees, all cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. Like her sister restaurant in Palm Desert, California, this is one place you want to return to again and again.

The pasta dishes were good. We ordered sauteed spinach that we couldn't eat, it tasted bad. The chicken with cognac cream sausage mushrooms was just okay. Wasn't as flavorful as I was hoping for. House red wine was good. Service was good.

We enjoyed having dinner at mamma Gina! We ordered fried lampredotto, friend zucchini’s flowers and two second course s with two glasses of chianti wine. The atmosphere was great, nice service as well! Well done!

Coperta a little high but overall good value with discount. Regular price a little steep. Food was excellent and great value with discount we got.

Nice variety of choices including zucchini blossoms- yum! Service was great, as was the food. Highly recommend, getting a reso is easy thru Fork. Go for it!

The staff were friendly and attentive, which we appreciated. However, the portions were quite small and not very filling. We expected a bit more in terms of quantity for the price.

Our meals were so good! We couldn’t stop thinking about it afterward. I would even say it surpassed the tik tok restaurant we had the night before. <3

The entree was great should have stopped there the mains were lacking. The server was hovering pretty much wanting us to finish up and leave.

Great restaurant and amazing staff, we had dinner there and plates were absolutely delicious, it was an amazing experience and we really enjoyed everything. I strongly recommend this restaurant. We will repeat another time before we leave Florence.

Had previously been to the two Mama Gina Restaurants in S. California and always wanted to get to the original - crossed off my bucket list. Food was great as always just missed the seafood we used to get in Newport Beach!

Food was delicious. Portions were just right. We loved that they gave us a sample of some of a soup. Service was fast and staff super friendly.

Each time I come to Florence eat at Mama Gina’s. They welcome you warmly, the food is always good and the service is always good. It’s not super fancy and it’s not super casual so you can go in there and be comfortable after marching around the city for the day. I highly recommend it.

We came here for dinner on a Sunday night. Our family of 4 had an amazing meal. The beef carpaccio was excellent as was everything else. The service was great and the staff were wonderful. We really appreciated their patience with our 3 1/2 year old son .

We were a travel group and felt that everything went super well... from the service at the tables, attention to details and of course the food!!!

I was here 25 years ago and it was as amazing now as it was then. Be sure to as for the fried zucchini blossoms if you’re here in summer. We had the fried rabbit which was fantastic as was the tagliatelle with wild boar. Don’t miss this. After dinner walk to the Piazza di Michelangelo for a beautiful sunset view of the city.

The food wasn't cheap and tasted okay. I booked a reservation with 30% discount that they ignored at check-out. There are better places to visit.
