It seemed more like a food tour that is overly touristic then an authentic italian place.

Food was fabulous as was the waiter. Ambience a little quirky - high tables with stools so not too comfortable for an older person such as me:) But I loved it anyway!!

It is the best Italian experience we had ! Great food with excellent quality! You can taste local ingredients from variant places of Italy and of course great tickets of wine. The auberzine was amazing also the slow cooked beef and the tiramisu perfect. It’s a place that Italians must visit and tourists would be lucky to get! Thank you for such is lovely evening 👍

This is a unique, small restaurant in which everything seems to be done with love and care. Tables are high tops and the chairs could be uncomfortable for larger people and the tables are close together. Rita was welcoming and helpful and Masto just may be my new favorite restaurant in Rome.

Masto was absolutely lovely—a perfect, intimate little spot. The array of cheeses were fantastic, and the pasta and main dishes were the perfect serving size. We had the veal ragù lasagna—it was just right, without being too rich as is common with lasagna; the cacio e pepe gnocchi (my partner who doesn’t usually enjoy gnocchi or pepper loved it); and the chicken with a side of Italian broccolini (which was perfect). The owner was chatting with people and seemed gregarious and welcoming. The only very minor disappointment was when the servers responded in English (and we received an English menu) when I was speaking Italian—I know most English speakers/tourists probably consider this great service and complain if no one speaks English , but I’m in Italy and prefer to use Italian 😊 And my partner wants to practice. I wish tourists would try harder to adapt to the culture they’re in versus expecting the culture to adapt to them. But I can’t fault the restaurant for this at all, 10/10 ⭐️

We found Masto on the advice from a couple on the streets of Rome! What a memorable evening! Great service….we speak no Italian! Food was outstanding and the wine suggested complemented our selections perfectly. The interior just enveloped you and added to this most memorable evening. The staff and owner could not have been more attentive. Thank you for an amazing experience.

The service was excellent and generous. The food was well prepare, unique and delicious. We enjoyed our last meal in Rome at MASTO a Testaccio. It was great that their hours allowed us to enjoy our day, a great meal and get off to airport. MASTO is open from lunchtime, through the afternoon and at dinner time. Everything is fresh and well prepared and served with delight in your culinary experience!

The wine and service were excellent, but their risotto and lasagna were not that good. Overall, I wish they had more options without meat and there's only one vegan dish (the sad risotto).

Great little find. Had the gnocchi carbonara, and slow cooked pork for dinner, and came back another time for the mushroom risotto - everything was delicious and served with a smile. Excellent quality food and kitchen.

We took a chance based on reviews and we were not disappointed. Best meal so far in Rome. Gnocchi and risotto were the best we've ever had. Everything was perfect. Highliy recommend!!

We had the good fortune of going to Masto for Easter Sunday dinner and thoroughly enjoyed all the courses served to us. Great service, great food, nice atmosphere.

What an amazing restaurant. The food was outstanding and the staff went out of their way to ensure that we were satisfied. In addition to serving the best meal we have had since we’ve been in Roma, it’s the extra little things that made this restaurant so special. As we were waiting for our first courses, we were brought fabulous balsamic vinegar from Modena and first press olive oil to dip our complimentary bread into which was a real treat. I had the gnocchi with caci e peppe and my husband had the blueberry risotto. Both were flavorful and delicious. We then shared osso buco which was fantastic. If you love burrata order it as a starter. It’s the best you’ll have in Roma Unfortunately we are going home tomorrow. How I wish we could stay another night just to dine here once more. It’s that good.

Rita was the most gracious and personable host! She made us feel at ease and made us feel like we were the most honored guests. Very impressive!!!
