10/10Masto was absolutely lovely—a perfect, intimate little spot. The array of cheeses were fantastic, and the pasta and main dishes were the perfect serving size. We had the veal ragù lasagna—it was just right, without being too rich as is common with lasagna; the cacio e pepe gnocchi (my partner who doesn’t usually enjoy gnocchi or pepper loved it); and the chicken with a side of Italian broccolini (which was perfect). The owner was chatting with people and seemed gregarious and welcoming. The only very minor disappointment was when the servers responded in English (and we received an English menu) when I was speaking Italian—I know most English speakers/tourists probably consider this great service and complain if no one speaks English , but I’m in Italy and prefer to use Italian 😊 And my partner wants to practice. I wish tourists would try harder to adapt to the culture they’re in versus expecting the culture to adapt to them. But I can’t fault the restaurant for this at all, 10/10 ⭐️

10/10We found Masto on the advice from a couple on the streets of Rome! What a memorable evening! Great service….we speak no Italian! Food was outstanding and the wine suggested complemented our selections perfectly. The interior just enveloped you and added to this most memorable evening. The staff and owner could not have been more attentive. Thank you for an amazing experience.

The service was excellent and generous. The food was well prepare, unique and delicious. We enjoyed our last meal in Rome at MASTO a Testaccio. It was great that their hours allowed us to enjoy our day, a great meal and get off to airport. MASTO is open from lunchtime, through the afternoon and at dinner time. Everything is fresh and well prepared and served with delight in your culinary experience!

7/10The wine and service were excellent, but their risotto and lasagna were not that good. Overall, I wish they had more options without meat and there's only one vegan dish (the sad risotto).

10/10Great little find. Had the gnocchi carbonara, and slow cooked pork for dinner, and came back another time for the mushroom risotto - everything was delicious and served with a smile. Excellent quality food and kitchen.
