6.5/10An Italian friend took me to Maxela five years ago, and we have been coming every time we visit Rome - about twice a year. The experience is gradually worsening to the point where I consider not dining in this restaurant next time. For example, the grilled vegetables we ordered with the steak were so thinly cut that they were practically rubber after grilling. No decent restaurant should serve a dish like that.

3.5/10We had hoped this was going to be great but unfortunately our food was limited on flavor and the manager was smoking outside the door so it smelled of cigarettes.

8.5/10Somelie was incredible. He's adjust the wine accordingly to my priority. unfortunately can't get the my priority wine by glass do it was great a Proper Replacement. Tartar was tasty and big. Great service.

10/10Just what we needed on our first night in Rome (3rd trip). We took advantage of their three varieties of steak tartare and loved each of them. Our waiter went out of his way to select the perfect wine to complement the food, given our tastes. If there weren’t so many good restaurants in Rome, I’d go back tomorrow!

9.5/10This is a bistro so focuses more on meat than pizza and pasta. Pizza is on the menu and I had one- in fact the best I’d had in Italy on our whole trip. Pasta wasn’t on the menu but they made carbonara for my son and had been wiling to serve their meatballs with pasta (something Romans do not usually do) , looking around there were plenty other people taking pasta as well as food from the menu. Service was friendly and attentive and the team spoke good English. It was a very enjoyable dinner for our last night in Rome.

5.5/10The Florentine Steak had good flavor but terrible texture- very chewy! Inexpensive Umbrian Red wine was excellent, salads were good- after all the hype, the steak was more than disappointing.

2/10The food was good but we had barely finished our frist dish and the second dish was served. We didn't had the chance to order a bottle of wine until our food was already almost finished. The service was not very good for us but for the italian People they did everything! It was very dissapointing! Never again!

10/10Very central restaurant near Pantheon, delicious traditional Roman dishes, very nice service. The super cute gesture of bringing jars of candy at the end of the meal. Loved it! Will definitely go back next time I am in Rome.

10/10Nice restaurant at a little square within a busy and cosy neighbourhood. We were with our 2 teenagers. Great staff, very friendly, all speak English very well. Food was of great quality, especially the meat....and the desserts. The complimentary Limoncello was a treat! Highly recommended!!

10/10This is the place for meat lovers. They have a great selection of tartare, tender steak fillet, meat of a very good quality. The staff is entertaining and very professional. Absolutely recommend this restaurant.
