6.5/10An Italian friend took me to Maxela five years ago, and we have been coming every time we visit Rome - about twice a year. The experience is gradually worsening to the point where I consider not dining in this restaurant next time. For example, the grilled vegetables we ordered with the steak were so thinly cut that they were practically rubber after grilling. No decent restaurant should serve a dish like that.

3.5/10We had hoped this was going to be great but unfortunately our food was limited on flavor and the manager was smoking outside the door so it smelled of cigarettes.

8.5/10Somelie was incredible. He's adjust the wine accordingly to my priority. unfortunately can't get the my priority wine by glass do it was great a Proper Replacement. Tartar was tasty and big. Great service.

10/10Just what we needed on our first night in Rome (3rd trip). We took advantage of their three varieties of steak tartare and loved each of them. Our waiter went out of his way to select the perfect wine to complement the food, given our tastes. If there weren’t so many good restaurants in Rome, I’d go back tomorrow!

9.5/10This is a bistro so focuses more on meat than pizza and pasta. Pizza is on the menu and I had one- in fact the best I’d had in Italy on our whole trip. Pasta wasn’t on the menu but they made carbonara for my son and had been wiling to serve their meatballs with pasta (something Romans do not usually do) , looking around there were plenty other people taking pasta as well as food from the menu. Service was friendly and attentive and the team spoke good English. It was a very enjoyable dinner for our last night in Rome.
