Wow, we just loved this place. Server was the most attentive person we’ve had our entire trip here! The food was SO good. We loved the mussel with chili as an appetizer and the bowls we had with our entree was delicious. A must place to eat!!

10/10In my top ten meals ever. The mussels were cooked perfectly and were abundant. I’ve never had a serving of that size for the price. The side of pasta proved to be a great base for the delicious cream and leek sauce chosen for the mussels. There are 10 different options . Service was excellent and on a chilly night the restaurant was warm and welcoming. A return trip is definitely in order.

3/10Lousy ambiance, soulless staff, helpfull service, tired-lack of taste food, no wine menu with pricing, obligatory tip suggestion by pos & never seen mandatory surcharge of comission for creditcard payments !!! (Our first restaurant in Portugal charging extra commission for creditcard payments without prior notice) A pity for such an original concept!

9.5/10Such a great concept. Mussels were excellent. We tried 2 different preps, and one pasta, one frites. Come hungry! Or share a pot. We also tried the Sharish gin- delicious!! Only downside is location. Street is very quiet and heaters would have been really nice. Loved our server. Would def come back.

10/10First time we've tried it and despite not drinking gin I was mostly impressed with the quality of the food, the good service and the positive upbeat of the manager. Restaurants are very likely less about the glitter and fancy dishes than the human aspect and I think this placed has nailed both quite well. We have had the mussels with pesto sauce and the sliced meat which is of great quality and cut seasoned and cooked to perfection despite forgetting to order it almost raw or very rare the pink was well over 50% which is a very nice medium and I'm guessing that's their standard. All and all a very pleasant surprise just next door to us so we'll be going back for sure and definetly recommend a visit.

10/10The best mussels I have had in a long time and so fresh. Some were a bit small, but there was also some very large ones. Service was good and there is a good selection of wine as well as gin. Would recommend and will certainly return next time we visit Cascais.

3.5/10We’ve known Moules & Gin for years and have always had fond memories of the great food and service. Sadly, our recent visit was a real letdown. From the beginning, the experience was frustrating — the order was taken incorrectly, and we were left waiting far too long without anyone checking in on our table. Eventually, someone who seemed to be either the owner or manager did come by and apologized, which we appreciated. However, she also complained about the staff — something that, as guests, we’d rather not hear. We simply wanted a meal served in a reasonable time with a minimum level of attention, which unfortunately didn’t happen. To their credit, they did offer us an extra beer as a gesture, but the overall service didn’t match even basic expectations. What was even more uncomfortable was being asked for a tip at the end, despite everything. It’s really disappointing to see how far the experience has declined. Sadly, it’s not a place we’ll be returning to any time soon.

+1We celebrated my husband birthday and it was great. We've been going there since arriving in CASCAIS 8 years ago and the quality has always been fantastic! I never worry about having shell fish at M&G! Our favourite is the champagne sauce. 🥂🎂👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
