The best things we ate were merely mediocre. As for the rest, the fried veal brains left a bitter deep-fried after-taste. The aged Parmesan cheese with balsamic vinegar, which should have been a hymn to those ingredients, was dry and tasteless, as if the cheese had been badly stored. Pappa al pomodore was far too porridgey to be pleasant. The remaining dishes are simply not worth mentioning. Michelin is really hurting its brand with its unstarred recommendations. Too many of them are questionable, like this one. On the plus side, the service was professional and charming. They took three dishes off the bill and were pleasant and apologetic about it. They didn’t deserve this.

The rocket salad with pear, walnuts and honey and the amuse bouche were delicious. The tagliolini with mushrooms was nurturing and flavorful. We fell upon this restaurant luckily and had a lovely meal.

We had a wonderful experience here! The staff were very kind, friendly, courteous, and attentive. Exquisite Negroni!! Every course was delicious and tastefully presented, from the tartare di manzo, to angnolotti carbonara, to papardelle with duck ragout and a beautiful pear and rucola salad! Decadent granduia with caramel was an excellent dessert! So pleasant and enjoyable! Would absolutely go back!!

Poor service - left without attention for long periods. Extensive wine list but many not available and white wine not chilled. Expensive cheese plate with large quantities of pecorino and not much else!!

The food and service was outstanding. Delicious Tuscan cuisine with a contemporary and creative flair. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a dinner to remember.

I booked on a Sunday evening. The service is a bit odd and nonchalant. The food was good, but not impressive. My dessert was a bit of a disappointment. They have good wines, and the wine pairing offered good matches with the food. Overall an enjoyable experience, but nothing more.

I just had an amazing five-course dinner at Mugolone in Siena tonight. Each dish was like a little work of art – the flavors and textures were incredible, perfectly balanced. And the service was great too. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and professional. I will certainly be recommending Mugolone to my friends and family. If you're ever in the area, you absolutely HAVE to check this place out.

The evening was an experience: outstanding service and cuisine that was as creative as it was technically excellent. The wine list is not extensive, but very well selected. The ambience is cosy and yet pleasantly businesslike. Thank you for this wonderful evening.

The porcini mushroom risotto was excellent. As was the white truffle pasta. Both were in season.

We booked for lunch, and were not disappointed. The room we were in was large and bright with some colorful paintings. The staff was welcoming and friendly, very professional. They have a lovely selection of wines by the glass. They even have a couple of Coravin choices if you want to splurge. We shared our meal, starting with the pappa al pomodoro with stracciatella cream and basil sauce. It was rich and creamy, and the flavors perfectly balanced. Next we had a special tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the mixture of porcini and fresh mushrooms was rich and flavorful. Finally we had the pork ribs. The sweet and sour onions and the lightly dressed salad were a perfect foil to the rich meat. Portions were nice, easy to share. And we were satisfied but not stuffed at the end of our meal. I would definitely recommend a visit if you are in Siena and feel like treating yourself to a lovely quiet meal.

Well, the ambiance is nice and the starter was excellent, the rest of the meal was a disaster. We’ve been in Italy for three weeks eating out every evening and this was the only terrible meal we had. The lamb rack was unremarkable and a small portion. The Chinta , was so overcooked it was in edible. The mushroom special was greasy, resembling something you’d find at a cheap tavern. Once the staff knew we were dissatisfied they no longer came around the table.

Some walnuts in appetizer were rancid. One of our water glasses smelled bad inside. Was told we wouldn’t be charged for the water, but we were anyway. Brunello by the glass was served with a fruit fly floating inside. Maybe bad coincidences, but certainly not expected at a restaurant like this.

Expected excellent, innovative dishes here, given the reputation and high price. Sadly we were served pretty mediocre food, not a “tasting menu” as such. Quite disappointed. I’m glad I didn’t pay €1050 for one of the wines on the menu!

Most of all it is the food. Very high quality and innovative. We enjoyed chicken liver, poached egg with mushroom and truffle, sliced beef with roast potatoes and semifreddo (fig and cherries). fantastic wine selection, too. So good we immediately booked to return for lunch tomorrow.

Because of the Palio going on the restaurant only offered a set 4-course menu - at €70 p.p, - which was excellent. Even for the gluten-free version of it. The wine-menu is extensive and not over-priced. The restaurant is spacious and calm, which was welcome after a hectic Palio-day! So, great place for a nice treat!

Beautiful dining room, impeccable service. Tasting menu, especially the duck tortelli in Parmesan fondue and the braised veal cheek was sublime.

Lovely welcome, we were booked quite late for lunch so it was quiet in the restaurant which suited us. Food was good, honest fayre and we would recommend this restaurant.

Unfortunately lovely service and pro but the food ideas were good but not very freshly delivered - shame as we were looking forward for this and liked the menu options sophisticated - maybe just a bad day during Easter holiday time, thanks best luisa

What an amazing experience. Great food, amazing service and a wonderful wine list. The sommelier really knows his stuff, explaining everything about your wine choices. Yes, I can’t wait to comeback!!
