10/10The evening was an experience: outstanding service and cuisine that was as creative as it was technically excellent. The wine list is not extensive, but very well selected. The ambience is cosy and yet pleasantly businesslike. Thank you for this wonderful evening.

10/10We booked for lunch, and were not disappointed. The room we were in was large and bright with some colorful paintings. The staff was welcoming and friendly, very professional. They have a lovely selection of wines by the glass. They even have a couple of Coravin choices if you want to splurge. We shared our meal, starting with the pappa al pomodoro with stracciatella cream and basil sauce. It was rich and creamy, and the flavors perfectly balanced. Next we had a special tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the mixture of porcini and fresh mushrooms was rich and flavorful. Finally we had the pork ribs. The sweet and sour onions and the lightly dressed salad were a perfect foil to the rich meat. Portions were nice, easy to share. And we were satisfied but not stuffed at the end of our meal. I would definitely recommend a visit if you are in Siena and feel like treating yourself to a lovely quiet meal.

4/10Well, the ambiance is nice and the starter was excellent, the rest of the meal was a disaster. We’ve been in Italy for three weeks eating out every evening and this was the only terrible meal we had. The lamb rack was unremarkable and a small portion. The Chinta , was so overcooked it was in edible. The mushroom special was greasy, resembling something you’d find at a cheap tavern. Once the staff knew we were dissatisfied they no longer came around the table.

6/10Some walnuts in appetizer were rancid. One of our water glasses smelled bad inside. Was told we wouldn’t be charged for the water, but we were anyway. Brunello by the glass was served with a fruit fly floating inside. Maybe bad coincidences, but certainly not expected at a restaurant like this.

5/10Expected excellent, innovative dishes here, given the reputation and high price. Sadly we were served pretty mediocre food, not a “tasting menu” as such. Quite disappointed. I’m glad I didn’t pay €1050 for one of the wines on the menu!

10/10Most of all it is the food. Very high quality and innovative. We enjoyed chicken liver, poached egg with mushroom and truffle, sliced beef with roast potatoes and semifreddo (fig and cherries). fantastic wine selection, too. So good we immediately booked to return for lunch tomorrow.

9.5/10Because of the Palio going on the restaurant only offered a set 4-course menu - at €70 p.p, - which was excellent. Even for the gluten-free version of it. The wine-menu is extensive and not over-priced. The restaurant is spacious and calm, which was welcome after a hectic Palio-day! So, great place for a nice treat!
