Lovely restaurant with friendly and attentive staff. The tuna steak with pistachio crust was amazing—the pastas were delightful.

Lovely place. Lovely food. Very friendly. They were happy (they offered) to adapt their menu to make it more vegetarian friendly. We were too full for dessert but they then surprised us by giving us a little taster cup of their lemon sorbet. V nice. Will go back. Even gave us a little pot of honey as we left!

Our dishes were tasty and well prepared. Server was pleasant, prices were reasonable.

Nostos Bistrot was a superb experience. Excellent and mostly Sicilian cuisine cooked with a care and refinement remarkable for the price. Our antipasti were caponata and stuffed sardines, secondi were frittata mista and sea bream, followed by very good desserts. The staff were friendly and professional, and the chef wandered around from time to time to keep an eye on how everything was going. Our best meal in Ortigia (where we've eaten very well) and it will be hard to beat elsewhere as we travel round Sicily.

The food and drinks (local Sicilian whites) were fantastic. Stuffed sardines, bread meatballs in rich tomato sauce, local pork stuffed ravioli. Lovely ambience, great service and some free treats too. What’s not to like ?

Great meal! Very nice service and chef. Pastas were delicious, food was served quickly. Highly recommended! We had two kids with us and they treated them very well.

The ambiance was nice, however, the attention to detail was just not there. My wife and I both had fish and decided on a white wine. There were 10 white wines on the menu, all local, and only five were available. My wife’s dish was rne sea bream fish which was good, however, every side dish was literally as cold as ice - Including the mashed potatoes and the egg eggplant. We were both expecting a much better experience based on previous reviews and awards. Not Recommended.
Nostos BistrotHowever, as you said... you just had to ask and we would have immediately replaced the dish. A mistake can happen on an evening with many people. Ours is not a gourmet restaurant but a place where you can feel good and eat happily. The wines are only Sicilian and it can happen that some labels are missing. We apologize for this but even to advise against a restaurant just for this seems exaggerated to me but nevertheless it is your idea and we take note of it. Greetings - Nostos Bistrot

Charming restaurant with great food and staff. Seafood is fresh and delicious. The Lemon mousse with meringue is wonderful!

This restaurant was so good the first time that we came back for dinner a second time. Excellent seafood dishes in the heart of Ortigia but away from the crowded streets.

Fabulous welcome to this small bistro. Menu is small but very seasonal. We were delighted with our choices and Chef Giovanni came out to make sure everyone was happy with their food. This restaurant deserves all the plaudits it gets. Aboveboard all we were madness to feel very welcome like in someone’s own home - not an easy thing stomach create. Bravo we wish you the very best success. Giovanni was also super helpfulness when I asked how to recreate one of his dishes.

Nostos was very comfortable. The atmosphere was casual, but nice. The staff was humble, gracious and very attentive. The food was just what we were looking for. It was delicious but unassuming. I especially liked the Sicilian Salad. It was the best salad I have had in Italy and I will be going back for another.

This restaurant was recommended by a friend. Food and service were fine but there are many other places in Ortigia and this one isn’t particularly outstanding.

The food was delicious and it's a darling restaurant on a quaint street! Love everything about it! There t shirts are really fun and the chef gave my husband a free t shirt when he completed the chef and the t shirt !

The service and the chef’s welcome were great. The food quality and ambiance were average. The restaurant theme is written on a chalkboard “nobody likes a skinny chef”. It was too touristy and gimmicky for our party of 4. We started with the Mixta and Sicilian salads, both underwhelming, overdressed iceberg lettuce. The pistachio pasta had too few pistachios, too little flavor and too much cream. We had a couple other pastas that none of us found remarkable. The sea bream was delicious but the accompaniments of grilled onions and cherry tomatoes lacked a chef’s finishing touches. Nothing was bad and everything was average. In a country known for its’ excellent food, we’d take a pass on this restaurant.

Delicious food and home-cooked flavors. Husband-wife team that are friendly and obviously great at what they do. The chef even adapted a dish to my liking! Not overly touristy either.

The food was NOT tasty. We’ve had the same dishes at other restaurants in Siracusa that was amazing. The chef explained to us that they used local produced ingredients but still it tasted very bad. The service was bad too. It felt like a bunch of kids serving us. Reaching over our plates, hands in the food and didn’t know how to interact. Very bad experience. We paid our bill and left. Still hungry cause we couldn’t finish the bad tasting food. Don’t go here!! There’s probably a better food shack on the corner of your home street. Meetballs were too salty, caprese with tomatoes that tasted like seawater and staff that behaved like uneducated kids. There’s much better places to spend your dime at!
Nostos Bistrotyou should just be ashamed of what you wrote. It is an insult to the people who work and use excellent and local raw materials. How can you judge a restaurant and all its history by a mozzarella and a cherry tomato which among other things was excellent and fresh. we can understand tastes that may or may not be strong but we cannot afford to write certain things. But have you noticed what all the other reviews say about us!? Plus the chef came to talk to you to understand what your problem was. Surely you will find a shop where you eat better and you can spend your pennies. Shame!

We were a group of 8 in Siracusa for the first time. The food was delicious and the chef prepared some vegan food not on the menu for a member of our group. A great ambiance and a memorable evening.

Cozy, chef and his restaurant partner/wife greeted us and made excellent recommendations. Food perfectly prepared, flavorful. Service warm and friendly. Prices very reasonable. Wish we were staying longer, we'd go back again!

Restaurant was bistro style, but prices too expensive for the quality. Service was poor, only for the locals or friends it was very welcoming. Little disappointing.

Nice place filled with locals and tourists. Quality food with reasonable prices and chef prides himself on providing great food.Highly recommended for white table cloth experience at no table cloth place.

We had an incredible meal. The chef greeted us. Lovely setting and terrific staff who spoke English with us. Very reasonable for such a wonderful experience!

The food was great but unfortunately let down by the service with the starter for myself and the main course for my wife being brought at the same time.
