I come here since I has a kid and is still a place I ask to visit even living abroad now! The good is still as it was, the recipes are the same and amazing. To complement the service is always great and all very attentive, even when they are full.

The Leitão was great but for me, the staff made all the difference. From the lady on the door to lovely lady who served us. I even had a backstage tour to see the Leitões cooking in the ovens. Lovely place…

Food was really great to have once a year. There’s no way you can eat that decadent pork with it’s super crunchy skin and live to tell about it if eaten more then once. :) Service was efficient, not overly friendly nor too friendly. Just doing their job. The place is really nice decorated and ambience. Was really surprised to find something like this in the middle of nowhere on the side of the road.

Food was excellent , very authentic and very traditional. Setting was also amazing. The only little thing is there is no English menu and we had to use google translate and it is not the easiest thing to make sense of what is in menu.

Best leitão in Portugal. The elegant restaurant with small-town charm and friendly service will be a regular on our visits in the future. We've tried all the popular spots for leitão but this restaurant still wins.

My sister had recommended this restaurant so we knew it would be an excellent choice. The food was excellent, delicious, well presented both the main dishes and the desserts. The wine from the area was also very good and the staff very professional. The cleanliness everywhere including the bathrooms reassures you of the high standards that they have. We hope to return!

Moist suckling pig with crunchy skin... done to perfection. Side salad went well with it. The rice was cooked in broth and tasted moist and rich. Next time we're try the potato chips. A bit noisy. And very efficient no frills service

When I am in Portugal (Primavera & Outono) I always take my friends or house guests to O Caneira for "leitao". It is one of my favourite restaurants. The food,the ambience and the service is always good and the staff are helpful and friendly. My friends return to Inglaterra and contiinue to speak of the leitao lunch they enjoyed at Caneira so that other friends of friends also go there when they are on holiday in the Lisbon area. They all come back with the same opinion - it is a great place and all-round good value for money for this quality of restaurant.
