2.5/10Not a place to spend more money than neighboring places. Salty food and unfriendly service. Please ask how much they charge for uninspired 3 small pieces of bread before making reservation.

10/10The food was delicious, the staff, especially the host/manager (we forgot to get her name), was very helpful in suggesting what to order (ox tail, chocolate mousse), and even helped us with the tram schedule (we traveled via public transit from our central Lisbon hotel). Would definitely come again.

10/10This is a wonderful, intimate restaurant with very friendly, knowledgeable staff and superb food. We sat around the bar where you can watch the chefs at work but there is also an outside, covered area. Thoroughly recommended.

6/10Had a weeknight dinner in the restaurant with 5 other clients. No tables... food and drinks served at a horseshoe shaped bar. Prices were reasonable. Problems arose when our dinners exited the backroom kitchen to be garnished/plated by young chef. A solo English speaking guest decided this was a great time conduct a wine tasting and deep dive into his menu options etc. This went on for more than 15 minutes as our meat, French fries and fish sat on the counter going cold. Unfazed the young chef dressed and plated our food...dropped the now tepid proteins, ice cold French fries, and walked to the back door to the cook station to yuk it up with the sous chef and dish washer... totally ignoring our waves to discuss the food. We are what wasn't cold...paid the bill and left.

7/10The food is really delicious! All of it, we tasted several things, the rices (mushrooms and duck) are super tasty and creamy. The starters are also very good (muxama salad, eggs with asparagus, razor clam pastry and razor clam with garlic and herbs sauce). The only problem we had this time was that they forgot one of the dishes we ordered, when the waiter checked our order it was there, but somewhere from the order to the kitchen it vanished. So everybody was eating while one of us was almost half an hour waiting for his rice. If it was my restaurant I wouldn't have charged for this dish, or would have offered something else as an apology, but no they didn't. Now regarding the price, it's very expensive, for me only works for really special occasions, not daily.

9.5/10Truly amazing meal. Great sitting at the chef’s counter. The oxtail is one of the best dishes I’ve had that I can remember. The tuna salad was top too, and very fresh. Mushroom rice also delicious - with 4 types of mushrooms! I would say desserts aren’t as high standard as the starter and main but overall all the flavours are amazing. Good selection of wine too!

The razor clam and the pie were really good. I also tried the squid which was a bit too salty. Service-wise, the bartender is super helpful and nice but be careful when you pay. The person who was in charge of payment added tips without my consensus which I found sneaky.

Realky enjoyed my first visit. Server was attentive and knwokedgeable. Food was served in a tinely manner and portions were decent for a Michelin Bib. We had the wine that was crafted by the restaurant paired to the fish dish. Would recommend sharing dishes if coming with someone else as you get to try different amazing dishes! Loved the high top chair, open kitche n concept.

10/10The food here is exceptional. The ingredients and vibe are portuguese, but such care and pride is taken in the execution of the dishes that it is a joyful experience to eat here. We had returned here especially after having last been in Lisbon 4 years earlier and having loved it then. We were not disappointed. Highly recommended and allow yourselves to be guided in the choice of wines also. A great list with some interesting optinos.

10/10Excellent lunch that filled all our hungry bellies. We had the razor clams, squid and rabbit as starters and the duck rice (such generous portions of duck meat!) and mushroom rice for mains. The meal ended off perfectly with a walnut cake with ice cream and a meringue. Impeccable meal from start to end!

+1Great intimate setting with not that many seats. We had the razor clams which was lovely, garlic squid, and the bean octopus dish was so good that it really made us rethink how bean soup dishes should taste like with texture

7/10Great food! Loved the fish and the oxtail. Service could be better, friendlier and more welcoming, with better seating, cutlery etc (I got a chipped plate that we had to ask for exchange) Overall average value for the money, but in the Belém/Ajuda area probably one of the better restaurants.

8/10we had lunch on the terrace with beautiful November weather. here was a mix up with our order, but it was corrected immediately and we even kept the extra dis (salmon) The Porco Preto was delicious. Inside there is one big bar, but outside there are tables and it is pleasant and quiet.

8/10Really good creative menu with high quality products BUT very unwelcoming staff. This was my second time at O Frade. I brought along another foodie who I knew would love it. We ordered the duck rice, tuna muxama salad, the beef tartar (which needs salt or more cappers btw) and the turbot. Everything was excellent. The only problem was the attitude and lack of attentiveness from the servers. We had a reservation and arrived on time. As soon as we walked, the energy from our server (maybe a Spanish woman? She had a tattoo on her chest) was unwelcoming and cold. When we needed service (drinks, clean plasalt, coffee, etc) it felt unpleasant to us (the clients) to bother her! My friend and I eat at the best restaurants around the country so we have a broad perspective. Also, evaluating customer service performance in the hospitality sector in Portugal is what I do. CONCLUSION: O Frade has A LOT of work to do to raise the level of customer service to match the level of their food.
