Top Service, Food was extremely delicious and everything was just perfect. We enjoyed our dinner a lot!

We came to the restaurant to celebrate my husband’s birthday, but unfortunately our experience was very disappointing. We were treated poorly from the start and were seated outside in cold weather, even though the heater wasn’t working. When we asked to be moved inside, we were told there was no space and that the heater was broken and couldn’t be fixed in time. This was especially difficult as we were with a small child. We decided to stay, but the food was nothing special and the service was very poor throughout. Overall, it was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had.

For a restaurant that has held a Michelin distinction for several years, the overall experience was underwhelming. We ordered four dishes: razor clams, cod, duck rice (the signature), and oxtail. Unfortunately, none of them truly stood out in a positive way. The razor clams were overly simplistic, dominated by olive oil and herbs, with little depth or character. The cod was paired with a creamy component that felt excessively heavy and poorly balanced, masking rather than complementing the fish itself. The signature duck rice was particularly disappointing. The flavour was overshadowed by an overpowering use of orange zest, leaving mainly saltiness and oiliness in the rice. The duck itself lacked a clear, distinct flavour, which raises questions about both preparation and ingredient quality. Ironically, the most memorable element of the meal was the mashed potato served with the oxtail, which had a well-executed creamy texture. Overall, the menu felt unbalanced, with combinations that

An annoying and awkward plea to leave a 10% tip (probably for foreigners). Michelin recommendation will not survive long,

Service was impeccable! Best Tuna I have ever had in my life (learned it was from the belly of the tuna). Only didn’t get all 5 stars is because the chef’s back was to me most of the time and they were out of clams. Otherwise, outstanding!!

We were first to arrive at 6pm and yet other later arrivals were given preference to seating. The host paid attention to repeat customers, ignored us. Waiter was great, chefs as well: food not as high standard as we’d experienced before. We would return because of its proximity to the Cultural Center (we saw a show), but slightly disappointed in food quality - calamari undercooked.

Everything was lovely, the food, the service!!! We sat at a table on the sidewalk which was not amazing but in a space so tiny, the make the best of it

The food at Frade keeps on beeing really good! Just an honest constructive feedback, it is sad to have a wine list for a such restaurant printed on A4 paper that is crinckled and not cleanly presented, on that is quite sad that with Portugal wide range of wine and spakrling wine choices there was no availability for glass options for the sparkling on the day of our visit. Staff , as always, amazing, polite and attentive!

The food was excellent. However we did think the service was slightly lacking for us! We arrived on time but had to wait 5-10mins outside in the cold (with apologies) as our seats were not ready. One of us had to sit on a stool without a back inside with the promise it was to be changed soon - it was not. We then asked if we could be pointed to the gluten-free options - which I had specified when I booked - but we were only pointed to a couple mains so we did not order any starters. We were not offered a wine or other drinks menu and simply had water. We did enjoy the food we selected (the duck rice and the fish as both were gluten free) and we did have espresso afterwards and thought everything we had was lovely. We just felt we weren’t really welcome!

Outstanding food.

We followed the recommendations provided, and overall the experience was satisfactory, with the exception of the main course. We were informed that the Iberian pork was unavailable and were instead recommended the tuna belly by the senior staff member. However, the dish served was not tuna belly. When I later asked the senior staff whether there may have been an error on the menu, I was informed that the dish was in fact tuna loin, not belly, due to other considerations. The senior staff also stated that they believed this substitution had been clearly communicated to us prior to ordering, which was not the case.

Food and ambiance were excellent. Kitchen and front of house staff were energized and made the guests feel welcome. Was a great experience and good for top shelf ! Razor clams and the octopus with beans were a perfect winter meal! Will be back again some day.

One of my perennial favorites, O Frade never disappoints and I love introducing it to friends who have never been. This evening the standout was the Cataplana, but the lingueirão are also always delicious. We shared the Turbot accented with leeks and fennel, and finished with the sublime walnut cake - Can’t wait to return next month.

+2From the moment my family sat down, we were taken care of very well by all the staff. Tight and quick service and extra attention to detail at every step! Every plate was stunning and it was a treat to watch it all come together with the open concept table. Linguada rissoes so good that my partner (who doesn't enjoy shellfish) went for seconds and my mother-in-law ordered more to take home! The tuna belly, oxtail, and polvo feijoada were excuisite. We will definitely be back 😁

Nice place, nice service the only thing is that tuna was extremely fatty and too much oil, was extremely heavy

The dining experience was overall mediocre. The food tasted standard but wasn't anything special, and the atmosphere was just average. The restrooms were also quite narrow and uncomfortable. What bothered me most was the billing transparency. I ordered drinks and was charged a mandatory tip (service charge) without being informed beforehand. I think customers should be notified about this in advance.
