Sitting at the bar at O Frade is always a 5-star experience. Great dishes as always, maybe a touch acidic, but loved it again overall. Teh white talha wine was super interesting too.

Everything was very tasty. I had been a few years ago and had been dreaming of the octopus and bean stew. It was still tasty, but the octopus was very chewy this time, instead of melt-in-your mouth. The mushroom rice and desserts were delicious.

Only outside seating available, which may be a bit uncomfortable in the evening. Inside only barstool seats. Regrettably food was much less tasty than we expected. However service was excellent.

We had a wonderful experiences at O Frade 2 years ago so wanted to go back while visiting Lisbon this time. Sadly we were very disappointed. We arrived to find our booking was cancelled even though I called and confirmed it that afternoon. At first they were not going to let us stay until one server admitted that there was an error made by the person I had spoken too. Begrudgingly that offered us a table outside rather than at the bar which I had asked for although it wasn't full. It was cold and windy on the outside terrace. Finally our waiter turned on the heater and also gave us blankets. Our starters took a long time to arrive as we watched enviously the other tables receive their food. Thankfully our food finally arrived which was very good on the whole although the cod we a bit dry. The main dishes were good but the turbot had too much sauce for my liking. Our waiter was good but overall a very disappointing experience.

Not a place to spend more money than neighboring places. Salty food and unfriendly service. Please ask how much they charge for uninspired 3 small pieces of bread before making reservation.

The food was delicious, the staff, especially the host/manager (we forgot to get her name), was very helpful in suggesting what to order (ox tail, chocolate mousse), and even helped us with the tram schedule (we traveled via public transit from our central Lisbon hotel). Would definitely come again.
