10/10Best oysters i have ever had, and i had my fair share (FR, whole of US East Coast, Oz, Ireland, beaches of Kent)… Utah Beach oysters at La Cabane are out of this world!

9.5/10Every visit to Opium has been memorable, the latest one of several since we go there for the Cancale oysters when we are in Paris. The service is always friendly and prompt, this last visit being exceptionally so. My husband was recovering in our nearby hotel room from food poisoning from an airplane lunch so I wanted to bring him some fish soup. The 2 staff members there provided a well-wrapped glass jar of hot soup in a sturdy bag plus metal spoon to take with me. Opium is in a popular tourist area with hundreds of customers annually. Impressive that the staff remembered me but even if they hadn't, I bet their helpful and welcoming attitude would have been equal to the high quality oysters they sell.

3.5/10There are a lot of flies in their store, which should have been the first warning sign that the place was not that clean. Then, they try to upsell you on the oysters. When you choose cheaper ones and ask for recommendations, he tries to sell you ones that are a lot more expensive. We went with his recommendations, an assortment, and even though we had gone with the expensive ones -- the best from each region -- the oysters just left a bad taste in my mouth. Also, he says that their smoked salmon is exceptional, the best in Paris, so we ordered it, but it wasn't anything out of the ordinary at all. Definitely a place you can skip, you won't be missing out. For truly excellent oysters and exceptional service in Paris, visit Huitrerie Regis -- only a short walk away.

10/10FIVE STARS IN UPPERCASE! The owner is incredibly friendly and welcoming! He gave us a detailed introduction to different types of oysters and recommended the best ways to eat them. His oyster-opening skills are top-notch👍 Besides oysters, the fish soup is also excellent. （A side note, I forgot my power bank in the store, but the owner kept it safe for me until I returned to pick it up.🥹

10/10we were a family four and while the restaurant was quaint with only five or six tables had the best experience. One of the best meals we had while in Paris. The staff were super helpful and amazing, and the food was outstanding and fresh.

10/10Although this restaurant was small and narrow, only 6 tables it was packed with deliciousness. The server was extremely knowledgeable on all the offered oysters and other seafood delicacies. He also was recommended pairings of wine and champagne, although a limited selection, perfect! The oyster shucker is amazing, treating the oyster with the reverence they deserve. Sweet or briny, large or small , they were all schucked perfectly. Oh and don't forget the seafood stew. The most delicious broth I have ever tasted. The shrimp were large and cooked to perfection. I visited 2x in 4 days. Highly recommend if you want the best oysters and seafood in the Latin Quarter.

10/10This is the best oyster shop I have been!! Went here for my birthday and my parents anniversary. Definitely will come again. The food quality was fabulous, the owner is so nice and we loved his recommendations of food. Definitely worth coming here.

10/10The restaurant is a hidden gem!! Very small in size (reservations are a must) yet immense in ambiance and quality of food. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and able to make great recommendations as to food choices. Oysters are absolutely fresh. Highly recommend this establishment and will most-certainly return when travelling back to Paris.
