Every visit to Opium has been memorable, the latest one of several since we go there for the Cancale oysters when we are in Paris. The service is always friendly and prompt, this last visit being exceptionally so. My husband was recovering in our nearby hotel room from food poisoning from an airplane lunch so I wanted to bring him some fish soup. The 2 staff members there provided a well-wrapped glass jar of hot soup in a sturdy bag plus metal spoon to take with me. Opium is in a popular tourist area with hundreds of customers annually. Impressive that the staff remembered me but even if they hadn't, I bet their helpful and welcoming attitude would have been equal to the high quality oysters they sell.
