We have a couple of favourite restaurants in Firenze but wanted to broaden our horizons. We liked the reviews of Osteria Cipolla Rossa which we found online and thought that we would try it. I am sure glad we did. The food was excellent, pure Tuscany. Something funny happened that actually added to my experience. For my appetiser, I wanted to order the classic fegatini (chicken liver) crostini but I mistakenly didn't specify which crostini. When my crostini arrived, I realized that the topping was not chicken liver but tripe (and i usually don't like tripe). It was my mistake so I didn't make a fuss, I ate what came, and I have to say, i am grateful for my mistake because though I like Osteria Cipolla Rossa for a variety of reasons, I would return the next time I am back in Florence and order the tripe crostini on purpose. They were absolutely delicious. And so was everything else we had, And that extra glass of Bolghieri red I had was divine!

This is our new favorite restaurant in Florence. The food was great and the atmosphere casual. The best, though, was the staff and service. Not far from the Duomo complex, but far enough to get away from the hordes. Don’t miss it.

I feel that Bistecca's prices are a little higher than other restaurants, but I don't mind because it's so delicious and satisfying. I would like to visit again.

A restaurant recommended by a blog about Japanese people living in Florence. We are a couple in our 60s, and we were able to finish the 1kg Maremma beef bistecca. The accompanying salad also has a lot of leafy vegetables, which Japanese people like. Recommended.

Great service, very knowledgeable and helpful with recommendations. Ribbolita was delicious. Very homely and cosy atmosphere.

classic crostini and loin of vitello (veal) were both superb. we have visited Florence regularly for 30 years and this was probably the best food at sensible prices we have had. no tourist rip off here!

A truly wonderful experience on all levels. The food was far and away the best that I have had on my stay in Italy to date. The Tagliolini al tartufo nero "scorzone" was unforgettable and I highly recommend it. The staff could not have been more accommodating and informative. This was an experience that my wife and I will always cherish.

1. The service was quite bad: We made a reservation a week in advance. There were not many people in the restaurant when we arrived, but the waiter arranged us into a very narrow and crowded seat, even though there were many better tables available. 2、2. Poor service attitude: We greeted the waiter many times, but she still ignored taking our order; she didn't give pepper and salt when the steak was served. 3、The food was mediocre, the steak came out cold and not hot, and the plate the steak was served on was also cold, very bad

This restaurant was amazing & came highly recommended from our local tour guide as an excellent steakhouse, and it did not disappoint. The waitress was knowledgeable about the various types of steak they offered, and had great suggestions for wine pairings. We did order side dishes that were not delivered, but the steaks filled us up and the kitchen was happy to cancel our side dish order and not charge us for those. They were very apologetic would definitely dine here again.
