6.5/10The waiter who helped me order was very friendly but the meat was tough. This was the first time I used the Fork app during my 2 and a half month trip to Europe and since I was using it alone, I made a reservation during a quiet time. Everything was fine except when I paid and was leaving, I heard a loud "shit" sound. I had my bluetooth earphones on but I could still hear the outside noise. What did I do wrong? Maybe it was because they added 3 euros to my order so I didn't tip... or maybe it was because I spilled a drop of dessert sauce on the tablecloth. I wonder if I can continue using the Fork app and it made me feel bad all day.

I’m sorry this experience left you feeling uneasy. Rest assured, no one was saying anything unpleasant directed at you. Restaurants can sometimes be lively environments, and sounds or conversations from the kitchen or other tables might occasionally be overheard. In Italy, a “coperto” or cover charge is a standard part of dining out. This small fee, which was likely the 3 euros you mentioned, helps cover the use of table settings, bread, and other basic services. Because of this, tipping isn’t always expected, as the cover charge often accounts for part of the service. So not leaving a tip in addition to the coperto is very common and totally fine. We love working with The Fork app, as it helps us provide a seamless experience for guests like you by letting us know when to expect you and prepare accordingly. 10/10Our server was friendly and very attentive, and provided helpful suggestions. The restaurant ambience was excellent; quiet, with soft music and pleasant decor. The dishes were delicious and very reasonably priced. We would absolutely dine here again.

8/10+1we went here for our last meal in Florence, and Italy. The service was good, as the poor young waiter explained that he was on his own, and seemed many customers arrived around the same time. We had bruschetta (is it the Florentines don't use garlic or basil??), which was average (needed more salt too). However the pear tortellini was Divine. I had osso bucco for main, and my friend had the steak with green pepper sauce. Again, both were delicious! Generous portion. We couldn't fit in dessert, but they gave us limoncello at the end.

10/10Osteria de Cicalini is an incredible restaurant! Not only was our food excellent … our burrata, pear and honey starter was delicious as was our salad and pasta with seafood… but the owner Turi is very welcoming and helpful. This special restaurant is tucked away on a side street close to the Duomo, but completely away from the crowds of tourists. We highly recommend the restaurant and will return again while we are in Florence to enjoy another delicious meal!

10/10The waiter was personable and we had a wonderful Conversation with him about wines and the region. As it turns out he is very familiar with the winery that we are heading to next and even gave my husband some grappa to try on the house. The food was delicious as well as the presentation.

9/10We ordered an entrance of Burrata with slice pears and honey which was tasty. For main course a risotto with shrimp and raviolis. For the dessert we ordered cheesecake, and finally an espresso. The food was good, but not memorable. The portions are relatively small. With a discount of 50% we paid 51 euros (including a bottle of wine of 18 euros).

10/10+1Wauw what an experience. We have been infused with Italian cuisine this evening. Great wines, super antipasti, a fantastic pasta dish with truffle and egg, the mist amazing Osso Buco. The service was very good, very friendly and charming host! So in short. A wonderfully romantic evening. Probably one of the best dining experiences ever!!

10/10Been in Italy for 8 days, this is by far the best meal we have had. The service was quick, informative and polite. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. The wine recommended was also good. The restaurant itself was clean (even had a toilet seat- which , for reasons unknown to me, is a rarity in Italy!!) and nicely setup. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough

10/10This restaurant was a great find as we were wandering around Florence. It is so cute and inviting. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. The service is fantastic and the food is amazing. Our group enjoyed lovely Villa Antinori red and white wines with the beef tartar, Greek salad, shrimp and vegetable risotto, salmon and zucchini gnocchi, and lemon chicken. In fact it was so good, we went back for another meal during our stay in Florence. I highly recommend Cicalini when visiting Florence.

8/10Solid meal, but nothing special. Spaghetti with Tuscan ragout may have been a touch overcooked. Setting was nice though, and super close to the duomo.
