It was our first time in Livorno and first ( but not last) at the Osteria Red. We were looking for the place to have an authentic cacciuco, a famous seafood dish typical to Livorno. Our experience was beyond expectations! It is a family business, full of locals, friendly and attentive service and fantastic quality and taste of food, cacciuco especially! We have been impressed, and recommend it for visiting!

The owner / waiter was very friendly. We had a good chat about his time traveling our home country. The food was fresh and was great to try some local dishes. The service was quick! It was popular with locals, which is why it caught our eye. Nothing too fancy, just good local Italian cuisine. It was busy, so recommend a reservation.

Are you serious? Not fresh food? And premade?🤣🤣 Tell me what you eat and i write here the preparation. Our kitchen Is Mostly express, we don't use precooked and premade stuff, expecially for pastas dishes, where we use only de Cecco's pasta that Need 12 minutes Cook for spaghetti and 11 for penne and 7 for tagliatelle instantly coocked. And for welcoming what you want? We reseving your table, We show you how translate the menù in your language with QR, we answer your questions, what do you want a massage? And you write expensive. what you eat and drink, and how much you spent? Show me the recive please.

Beyond bizarre experience. The food was average at best. One of the dishes ( caciucchetto ) wasn’t heated through, so we asked to have it warmed up. The waitress comes back to check if we’re enjoying the seafood pasta and we point out unfortunately there’s a bit of sand from the clams … next thing we know the owner is asking us to leave, despite the lady dining at the table next to us stressing to him how we had simply replied to the waitress question.

We were ther with 2+2 family, service was really great, food tasty. Size of dishes for sure is not for kids, they left a lot’s even they liked it. Even me and my wife after eating appetizer we were not able to finish our second dish
