10/10Our host this evening kept our party and the other guests smiling and engaged all evening, taking the time to explain the day’s menu and providing recommendations. Each dish was well-portioned and delicious. I would recommend the lamb with truffle - absolutely delicious!

9.5/10The food was delicious. The owner Sabatinio and the chef are amazing people with great talent. After dinner, we took pictures with them because they literally became our friends by the end of the meal. I highly recommend this fabulous dining experience.

10/10This was by far the best restaurant of our vacation! The owner was funny and friendly and able to explain the menu in both English and Italian. The food was out of this world. For reference, we enjoyed the cheese plate with honey and jams, 2 pasta dishes- the ravioli in balsamic glaze is what dreams are made of. The pork shank, artichokes and potatoes- delicious. And homemade cherry panacotta and coffee for dessert. The meal was incredible! We had a delicious and reasonably priced bottle of wine and thoroughly enjoyed our last night in Rome at Osti Matti. Not to be missed this is a hidden gem.

10/10We last visited the wonderful Osti Matti 5 years ago, I'm so pleased to say it is still as fabulous as before. We booked our trip to Rome with the intention of coming back to this great find. The owner is very passionate about his traditional Roman menu. The food was outstanding Cheeses and hams with honey, rosehip and jam for the cheese, Spaghetti pepe then pork shank with cherry and balsamic glase, pana cota were just to die for. Extremely reasonable price wonderful atmosphere. We lived the whole experience, don't hesitate to visit just make sure you book before you arrive as tables are like gold dust.

10/10This little restaurant was excellent . The owner took the time to explain the menu and also how to dine in Italy( as we are first time visitors ). The food was excellent and prepared lovingly . We also found it very affordable compared to traveling in the US. As an added benefit , the owner was our server and had a wonderful sense of humor and definitely a way with people . Would highly recommend !

4.5/10We had an 8pm booking. We arrived 7:45 hoping we could be accommodated earlier but found the restaurant was still closed. Other customers started coming and all were left waiting for the place to open. Sabatino was so entertaining in presenting the menu. We received our antipasta around 9:15. My wife and i were already falling asleep waiting for the 1st and 2nd main dishes to be served. They arrived almost at 10.

9.5/10A great little local find. The waiter was extremely attentive and knowledgable about the food. He spoke in English and took the time to go through the whole menu explaining what each dish was and about the ingredients. He was so friendly and we were made to feel so welcome. The restaurant was busy with locals and tourists but we received first class service and food throughout.

9.5/10We are regulars because the food is incredible and the owner is wonderful. Great wine, cheese/meat plates, pastas and meats. I always get the tagliare and the stinco. Just come and eat here. You’ll be glad you did.

9.5/10A place in a non touristic area and by the looks not special, so why would you? Well because you do NOT end up in a tourist trap but a genuine real Italian place with passionate staff/owner, just very good (not fancy but very good) food, homemade and a heaven if you have gluten allergy! 2 people run this place, hats off! Super hard workers and passionate so you can guess the result. So book a table and get good genuine homemade food and a friendly price.

10/10Our first meal in Rome was a terrific one. Excellent food and excellent service. Very personalized experience, great job explaining the different cuisines and then also excellent food.. Would 100% recommend.

10/10I mean no do disrespect when I say, if you want to have a meal in Rome where you are treated truly as guest, this is the place for you. Well away from the beaten path, expect a beautiful experience.

10/10Delightful meal. The owner was amazing. He took the time to explain all of the dishes written in Italian to the two English speaking tables. He explained the philosophy of local sourced, fresh ingredients along with the fact that he personally knows all of the suppliers. The risotto and fresh pasta were to die for. Our only complaint was that we had no room for dessert. Finally, last bonus - 6 euros for a litre of excellent white house wine.

10/10If there were any more stars I would give it 10 more! From the attention and service, to the exquisite food- I would have walked by this hole in the wall and never even tried it had it not been recommended by the hotel. It’s a 10-15 min cab drive from the heart of the city but if you want authenticity and the feel of eating in someone’s home this is the place to be! I have tried the top restaurants recommended by trip advisor and friends in Rome, and this by far has been the best one. The owner, Sebastino, is the definition of hospitality. If there is one place you must try- this is is, not to mention that you CANNOT beat the price given the high quality and freshness of food. It’s a hidden gem that truly deserves the highest recognition!

10/10A hidden gem well worth going to. Delicious local traditional Italian recipes with ingredients sourced directly from the farm. An entertaining and amusing owner/host topped off the night especially with his descriptive explanation of the menu. Would definitely recommend.

8/10If you go to Rome and want to try something different that Roman dishes, I will recommend you this small restaurant inspired by the Emilia Romagna zone. Good plates including great ingredients that are taking from a same place. I was so happy as for one time I could eat Lasagna as Osti Matti make it white without tomatoes sauce and it was delicious. I had as well home made ravioli, then I choose to try melted pecorino cheese and for dessert la panna cotta. This last one was ok, it I really hard to find a really great and wonderful panna cotta even if it is home made. We met the Cook, nice lady and the service was well done, with great explanation in every languages if needed.

10/10The best Italian food in all of Italy. The service and the food both get an A+. The owner goes out of his way to make you feel welcome in Rome. This was the first place we ate at in Rome and it was a highlight of our trip.

10/10Oh my gosh, first meal in Rome and probably our best Italian meal ever!! We went a little overboard and ordered too much, so by the time our secondi piatti arrived, we were almost too full to enjoy it. Seriously GREAT food. The charcuterie and cheese plate was amazing, the the pasta dishes surpassed that, and the capper was "grandma's meatballs"....our of this world!! Prices are really good, service was fantastic with a lot of laughter, dinner was so delicious that we've made reservations for our LAST night in rome, too. Can't wait!

9.5/10A short menu of delicious dishes for lovers of traditional Italian cooking. Outstanding antipasto of salami and cheeses, pasta courses and lamb or veal mains which change daily. Simple wines from the cask, outstanding value for money. The owner/waiter speaks several languages and loves to chat with his customers. The restaurant is simple almost cafe style. Highly recommend

9.5/10Sabatini was our server and he was absolutely marvelous. He explained everything very carefully and offered very helpful suggestions. We felt like we were dining in the home of a friend rather than in a restaurant. The platter of antipasto meats and cheeses along with honey, and a rose hip sauce was excellent. The food was very well cooked. If you love greens, don't miss the chicory. A more than fitting meal for our final night in Rome.

9.5/10This was the very best dinner I've ever eaten at a restaurant. The food was fresh and top quality...fresh meats and cheeses straight from the farm. Everything was from a family recipe and perfectly prepared. The house wine was a bargain at 5 euros/liter. We had plenty of time to laugh and talk with each other. This gem of a meal lasted 3 3/4 hours and was a steal at 132 euros for 4 people. We shared bites from each other's plates and enjoyed it all!! When Matti brought out his wife and chef we stood and clapped. Truly a foodie experience at the top level. Bravo!!

10/10Love the food and ambiance! The owner is so personable as he patiently explained all dishes on the menu (Italian menu only). You can see passion and pride in his eyes about sharing authentic delicious Italian food to the customers. Every dish is cooked from natural ingredients and shared with passion which you don’t see everyday. We really hope to find similar experience in our hometown Los Angeles.
