Many people comment on the owner and how special he is. This is all true. What doesn’t get enough attention is the sophistication of the menu. It is deceiving in its simplicity. This restaurant is worthy of a special night out. The entire experience is memorable.

A wonderful meal with fantastic owner. The food was delicious -the best carbonara and bolognaise we have ever had. We were helped with the owner going through the menu on great detail in English. A fantastic night.

Amazing as always. Almost worth a trip to Rome just to visit. It is a full evening though, almost like visiting a family or friend’s house, so not suitable if you have time sensitive plans after. Will be back soon!

I was recommended to try Osti Matti by a family member and it did not disappoint! The team were incredible and very attentive! They enjoyed talking with us about Italian food and wine and made my boyfriend’s birthday very special. Thank you!!

Once we arrived inside, the owner welcomed us, checked our reservation, and seated us quickly. We enjoyed house red wine and he explained all of the plate opted for each course. He asked where we from and it sounded like he spoke English, Italian, and French. Once the food arrived, the first bite, we knew we had hit the taste lottery. My wife’s main course and mine were both excellent. This was the best meal we have had in our 10 day trip to London, Paris, and Rome. Most excellent.

We’ve been in Italy for 8 days and this has been the best restaurant we went to. Amazing food, a great host and a very nice, homey atmosphere. We liked it so much that we booked a table for the next day right away

First time in this restaurant. The waiter was amazing and gave a lot of information about the menu even if the restaurant was full (only him). The food was good too. Good portion. I recommend it to anyone who wants to have a good moment at a fair price.

Our host this evening kept our party and the other guests smiling and engaged all evening, taking the time to explain the day’s menu and providing recommendations. Each dish was well-portioned and delicious. I would recommend the lamb with truffle - absolutely delicious!

The food was delicious. The owner Sabatinio and the chef are amazing people with great talent. After dinner, we took pictures with them because they literally became our friends by the end of the meal. I highly recommend this fabulous dining experience.

This was by far the best restaurant of our vacation! The owner was funny and friendly and able to explain the menu in both English and Italian. The food was out of this world. For reference, we enjoyed the cheese plate with honey and jams, 2 pasta dishes- the ravioli in balsamic glaze is what dreams are made of. The pork shank, artichokes and potatoes- delicious. And homemade cherry panacotta and coffee for dessert. The meal was incredible! We had a delicious and reasonably priced bottle of wine and thoroughly enjoyed our last night in Rome at Osti Matti. Not to be missed this is a hidden gem.

We last visited the wonderful Osti Matti 5 years ago, I'm so pleased to say it is still as fabulous as before. We booked our trip to Rome with the intention of coming back to this great find. The owner is very passionate about his traditional Roman menu. The food was outstanding Cheeses and hams with honey, rosehip and jam for the cheese, Spaghetti pepe then pork shank with cherry and balsamic glase, pana cota were just to die for. Extremely reasonable price wonderful atmosphere. We lived the whole experience, don't hesitate to visit just make sure you book before you arrive as tables are like gold dust.

This little restaurant was excellent . The owner took the time to explain the menu and also how to dine in Italy( as we are first time visitors ). The food was excellent and prepared lovingly . We also found it very affordable compared to traveling in the US. As an added benefit , the owner was our server and had a wonderful sense of humor and definitely a way with people . Would highly recommend !
