Adorable friendly waitress… delicious food

We visited my brother’s birthday, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. As foreigners, it was very easy for us to order since everyone spoke perfect English, which made everything very comfortable from the start. The chef herself also came to our table and made sure all of our needs were taken care of. One of us was pregnant and had certain dietary restrictions, and another was vegan with additional restrictions, and everything was handled with great attention and care. As a vegan, I chose the famous curry without knowing that she had actually won prizes for it, and it was absolutely amazing. Everyone was truly happy with their meals. We were a party of six, and at the end everyone agreed it was an amazing experience. To top it off, everybody received a little piece of jewelry as a thank you for our visit. It was an absolutely phenomenal experience.

Lovely local recipes and great ambience! We were served by Will, who was absolutely brilliant and great at explaining the traditions behind each dish! Would definitely reccomend!

What a fantastic little place! Very friendly and attentive staff and an eclectic and innovative menu with a short description as to the origin of each dish. We loved the Chicken Satay and Pani Puri, and the generous portions of Moqueca and Shrimp Curry! Much to the delight of my partner, they even brought a Scotch Bonnet sauce for extra spiciness! And Ana, the owner, was so warm and welcoming! We had a wonderful evening and already booked again for next week! :-)

The resturant owner was on hand to make recommendations and to explain the menu which is clearly designed and cooked with love. Her recommedations did not disappoint. The atmosphere and the decor complimented the superb food and service provided. Overall a perfect meal and experience.

we've been coming to Pastanaga for a few years and always love seeing Ana, unfortunately for us she's got a thriving catering business as well. This is great for her but I'd love to see her catering creations brought to the restaurant menu to shake up a tired menu.

Absolutely perfect. A hidden gem. The food was scrumptious. The wait staff was so very attentive and friendly. The cocktails were amazing. Best Vesper I have ever had. We enjoyed dinner there to celebrate my wife’s birthday and I could not have asked for a better experience for her. Thank you so much!

The food a Pastanaga is inventive and delicious. The amuse bouche, puri starter and traditional batata egg vegetable dish was amazing. The duck rice with homemade chilli sauce on the side was also a hit. The wine accompanied perfectly. The staff and service was 5 star. Don’t miss a visit to this place.

We just felt so much at the right place at the right time here. This food is not there to be consumed, it is to be celebrated. I'm so glad I found this lovely restaurant thanks to other people's good ratings.

I really enjoyed my time at Pastanaga. The food was super fresh, full of flavor, and clearly made with love. The service was friendly, attentive, and professional. Overall, a really nice experience that I can highly recommend!

There is a side of me that wants to write a review discouraging others to visit this restaurant so that we can keep it our Lisbon secret but that would be disrespectful to the most charming chef/owner we have ever met. Do not miss the opportunity to taste fabulous burrata, scrumptious garlic shrimp and a beef stroganoff that was simply perfect. You can sit inside or outside… as it was a warm evening in October we chose outside which made it definitely more enjoyable. The service is a perfect team working in harmony. You must have a reservation… we watched many hopeful diners be turned away. A lovely evening that we will remember forever.

Followed recommendation from another fellow traveller. Friendly warm welcome. Nice cocktail selection and wine selection. Starters and main courses were excellent with an unusual Asian and Brazilian twist. Desserts looked amazing. Leave room but we couldn’t. Will definitely return the next time we’re in Lisbon.

This place is a hidden gem! We have dined in many U.S. 5-star restaurants, Italy, Greece, Ireland, Canada, and numerous times in Dubai. Pastanada is in the top 5 restaurants in which we have dined. Will was our primary server. The owner/chef whose name, unfortunately, we did not get checked in on all tables multiple times. She was both humble and gracious besides being an excellent chef and proprietor of Pastanada. The ambience was perfect for couples. The food was amazing. My wife had the Bacalhau and I had the Duck Rice. The flavors and the presentation rivaled any Michelin restaurant you could name. Several of the desserts were made to order. We got the Red Berry Pie with ice cream. It was worth the wait! The meal portions were appropriate to suit. The wine list,while not extensive, were Portuguese wines and paired perfectly with the entrees offered. We had one of the best dining experiences ever staying over 3 hours. We were not hurried by a restaurant trying to turn tables.

The food was unique and excellent. We loved every bite. From good wine / cocktail and interesting mini aubergines to carrot soup to our flavorful fish and rice main and “adult” ice cream, we were delighted with all of it. The restaurant has an intimate, lovey ambiance. We were so glad we discovered it.

This was the most memorable experience in Portugal. The atmosphere is warm and homey. The servers - especially Will - were attentive and friendly with great knowledge of the wines and menu. And tithe chef, Ana, is a dear woman who welcomes her visitors with stories and affection. The food and drink were absolutely the best we had in Portugal. What a lovely and memorable experience!
