9.5/10The experience was amazing overall! We were in two, we had a second dish, a glass of wine and a dessert each and spent 120€ in total. The food and the ambience were definitely something special. Although so special, I personally think the price might have been slightly lower and I noticed some sort of strange reluctance on using TheFork to accept the payment. Very small notes compared to how warm and peculiar the place is and how remarkable the execution of the dishes!

5.5/10We thought it was a Michelin star restaurant, but it was not they told us there. Really small tables outside this cute balcony over the river, great, but really small. Cold also and they did not have blankets. The food prepared buy Michelin stared chef was ok, some was exciting some not. I would not go back because of the seats. Staff was ok, I have had better service on other restaurants in Italy.

Dear Sir, if you want to eat near the 2100 year old Roman bridge, you have to settle for uncomfortable tables like thousands of people before you, but with a unique view of Roman monuments and the view of Castel San Pietra and the surrounding hills. Accept it, we cannot change anything we offer. gianni

9/10We were given a lovely table overlooking the river and received very attentive service. We spent the weekend in Verona celebrating our anniversary and the meal at Ponte Pietra was definitely one of the highlights

10/10This is a delightful spot in a unique location right on the bridge overlooking the river. The exterior terrace is wonderful. The food is simply excellent and the service just about perfect. A lovely experience.

9/10A beautiful restaurant with shaded seating overlooking the river. Whether inside or out, great hospitality by the staff. Despite visiting every year or two, we are remembered! A menu that changes, great pasta & good level of creativity, knowledgeable cookery & an extensive wine list. We couldn’t visit Verona & not eat at Ponte Pietra.

8.5/10The food was great! Saw the balcony online, and went to enjoy the view. When we arrived all the tables on the balcony were occupied, and we were told that we could be seated outside once a table opened up. We ordered Prosecco and one of them was not bubbly at all. After appetizers, 2 tables were available, and the owner proceeded to tell us that the tables were reserved already. When we were paying, the tables were still unoccupied, and the owner slammed the card reader on the table. Overall the food was amazing, but the service needs improvement.

7.5/10I feel that the restaurant is trading on its previous reputation. The setting is magical and quirky. There are four small tables outside on the side of the river. It’s a small corridor like terrace looking out directly over the river. The views are spectacular as is the sound of the river. It’s a bit cramped but the view and the scent of the omnipresent Jasmine more than compensate. The inside is small, but cosy. And there are more tables outside the entrance to the restaurant. The food was good without being spectacular, but certainly no complaints about its quality. Unfortunately, the service was poor. The maitre d’ was friendly but the other two waitresses really struggled to manage a single smile between them. It was painful to watch as they attempted to smile. It really was a huge difference to every other restaurant which we have visited whilst here. By quite a long way, the least friendly. And, unfortunately, the service failure was exacerbated when we ordered our dessert. Spoons were brought out to us and then…….nothing. After 25 minutes I went to the Maitre d’ and said that as we’d been waiting for 25 minutes we had given up and no longer wanted the dessert. Curiously, she didn’t look surprised. She didn’t try to find out what had happened. She smiled sheepishly and said sorry. And that was it. No effort to find out where the dessert was. No effort to find out what had happened and no effort to explain to me. One last thing, the shirt of one of the waitresses looked like it hadn’t been washed for quite a while which added to the sense that they really weren’t too fussed about what we thought of them. Maybe they were just having a bad day but it was a shame that they detracted from, rather than added to, the other parts of the visit which were positive.

9.5/10Beautiful location overlooking the Ponte Pietra and river. Food was good, and nicely presented. The tuna tartar was delicious. We shared the rib eye, which the menu doesn’t say that it’s to be shared. At a 1 kilo (minimum) weight, be aware that it is HUGE. Extensive wine list.

8.5/10Food was very good and so was the service. Deserts were excellent. Service was good, very good or excellent debending on who was doing and what. The restaurant is cosy and there is a nice atmosphere. We had a fantastic evening and the wines were superb! We did not make it easy by wanting to share bottles, but ordered different foods. Definitely worth your time and your money!

2/10This is a terrible restaurant. They are clearly cooking the food well in advance and then reheating it. The pasta was gluggy and inedible. The meat dry. Sauce was crusted on to plates because it had been in the oven so long. The service was rude and terrible. Primi and secondi served at the same time for one guest and the waitress got angry when we asked if we could have it in order. Another guest had to wait nearly an hour for their primi plate. Terrible food. Terrible service. And the wine by the glass was very low quality. Be warned. Stay away!

Maybe you should clear your head or it's a good thing to stay in your country and not come to Italy, people like you are not welcome by us. Greetings Gianni

8/10We have been in the restaurant for the second time, it’s a beautiful restaurant with good quality of the food, but we noticed that some of the dishes on menu are delicious and some other, just a usual good taste. We will probably return to this restaurant, if we come back to Verona and if we are lucky, we will may get a free digestive this time!

10/10This restaurant is so delicious, we ate here twice when visiting Verona. The veal cheek with smoky mashed potatoes and a glass of Amarone della Valpolicella from the owner’s own vineyard is not to be missed!

4/10Very disappointing. I had proposed to my girlfriend earlier that day and had wrote a note on my booking but the restaurant had no idea when we turned up. They also didn't put on the seat we had booked as they had over booked. The foot was if high quality but had mixed reviews from us. The pasta was very good but the main and starter were disappointing. The service was shocking and I have had better service at my local pub. They were very slow at topping up drinks and the food to ages. Considering I spent 192 euros I expected a lot more. The most disappointing part was that they didn't see the note about engagement.

10/10On our Italy trip, we’ve had a lot of meals, some Michelin stars, but so far this was our favorite meal. Everything delicious. Friendly service. Beautiful atmosphere. Go you won’t be sorry!

10/10This restaurant is in a great location right on the river. The staff are very friendly and it has a small but exciting menu with a massive wine list. The food is fantastic. It is worth booking and asking for a table on the terrace overlooking the river. Perfect location.

10/10So good, I dined TWICE the same day. My son (9 years old), and I were fortunate to be seated on the balcony, the view and setting is unmatched, utterly exquisite. The service top class. The food - marvellous, we enjoyed the egg with gold leaf, scallops and crispy kale to start, as second courses the risotto was fabulous, fusilli wow, spaghettoni gorgeous. Cannot wait to come back. Highly recommend.

10/10Wonderful food and a great atmosphere. The creme brulee was not quite set yet, and should have been a bit firmer, but other than that everything was perfect. The flowers that tipper the creme brulee was not jOsteria del Caval Matto, Piazzetta Ottolini, 2, 37121 Verona you recieve so I would totally recommend it to anyone going to Verona.

3/10Would not return to or reccomend this place. At first glance the restaurant looks really cool- when we walked in we were the first ones there asked to sit at a different two top and we were told it was reserved- which I doubted was true but accepted it non the less. The staff was snobby- All of this I wouldn’t normally mind but when the tuna came out it was fishy and inedible. We told them we couldn’t eat it and they said it was caught today. Again, doubtful. Would not return to this subpar place- not for food not for a vibe.

5/10The food was good, but the service was terrible, not friendly, not welcoming, couldn't find our reservation at first, waited 1 hour between appetizers and first course and after flagging down our waiter, who by the way looked way too young for such a place, told us that they gave our plates by mistake to another table earlier and simply forgot about us. I was speechless. At this point, when the first course came I asked the waiter if we could have some bread, noticing every single table had a bread basket since the appetizer course....zero sense of observation. Then we ordered wine, took 20 minutes to get to the table, and without even showing the bottle the waiter filled the glass and left without saying one word, or without even have it taste first?? At a Michelin restaurant?? SO disappointed in many levels. They didn't even offer anything for their mistakes, not that we wanted anything, but sometimes a nice gesture goes a long way. And by the way, the table behind us had the same experience overall, they had to wave down someone for 20 minutes for a dessert menu and then they didn't come to their table for the order for at least another 30 minutes. Totally unacceptable. I have been to several Michelin star restaurants worldwide and a few in Verona, but this one should have their sign taken away. We couldn't leave fast enough, and when paying at the cashier, not a word of thanks, sorry or nothing, what a shame. No thank you.
