From the very warm welcome to the excellent service, delicious and inventive food and reasonably priced wines, our evening at Potato was an absolute pleasure. Thoroughly recommend.

We were warmly welcomed when we came in for dinner. They decorated the table for the birthday that we were celebrating so that was a cute touch. The food is delicious with some flavors and combinations that I haven’t had before. The portions are of good amount, not too big and not too small - would suggest getting a starter and a main course, although the size of the starter was bigger than expected, but we still had room for the main course. The Gluhwein sorbet with cocoa crumble was yummy. All of the staff were very friendly and gave explanations of the dishes. Only downside was that the restaurant was full of loud Americans but that’s not the restaurants fault. 🙃 Also, I would recommend giving a small cake/cupcake with a candle for guests who are celebrating a birthday - it costs nothing to do that little gesture (many other restaurants do it) and would make it more memorable to dine at Potato. Overall it was a good dining experience, I would come back.

Fine food, with local ingredients, and service. The place is cozy, and in the middle of Zermatt Village. We recommend!

We were a party of 4 and chose very differently, but each of us enjoyed our choices. The presentation was delightful and the team worked hard. We removed one star because there was a bit of a delay in receiving the main courses, but we will definitely be back!

The ambiance was incredible. The staff were warm and personable. The food! I had the pasta of the month and it was amazing! Great restaurant, I will definitely be going back for another visit.

Exceeded expectations. Food was delicious, creative, and satisfying. Service impeccable and welcoming. Ambiance quiet and relaxing. We were allowed a sneak peek into the kitchen. It is a small tidy space with only three chefs! Highly recommend.

The menu is small because everything is locally sourced, which makes it easier to choose. We were provided with perfect descriptions of the menu options. The food was excellent with unique presentation of every course. Thank you for a perfect dinner experience in Zermatt!

We had the 5 course pescarian menu with wine pairing. Each bite of each dish was unique and memorable. The staff was knowledgeable, attentive, and welcoming. We rate it highly has a special culinary experience.

The food was generally very nicely plated and the service was very attentive. However, it was the first night of a new menu and none only one of the courses (which was a vegetable plate) wowed me at all. And what I liked about that one was more about the presentation than the taste. It tasted good to me but not to my husband, and was not at the level I would expect at that price point. For another course, the server indicated that she did not know how the sauce should be presented (poured over the course or around it on the plate). At these prices, the servers should know these things. In addition, the meat course, which I believe was duck, was overcooked.

Our server Alana (I hope I spelt it right.) was excellent. She made the experience lovely. The food was amazing. Looking forward to coming back when in Switzerland.

+3Every dish in this restaurant is very special, with layers of flavors building upon each other. It’s truly a feast for the taste buds. In addition, the staff is very friendly and frequently checks on the dining experience at the table. The atmosphere is also great!

Potato is always great, and my most recent visit did not disappoint! Food, service and ambiance were awesome! Definitely one of the best restaurants in Zermatt (and materially better than a few of the other Michelin recommended restaurants).

This restaurant was amazing. We celebrated the Valentine’s Day there. The food was exceptional and exquisite. The service and ambience were great as well! It is a very charming place that uses only locally grown ingredients and made Gourmet dishes out of them.

The food was amazing, we enjoyed the course so much. However the service was not meeting the quality of the food, and together with us some customers had to experience long wait because of that. Since the quality of the food is excellent I would have been appreciated if better served.

+1Walked past this restaurant several times as potato wasn’t a name catch for us. Saw it had great ratings so decided to take the chance. Lordy! What great food! Each course was excellent and the staff friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely be back and will totally recommend this restaurant.

The most kind and thoughtful staff. We brought our baby, who was supposed to be asleep. When she refused to be put down, the staff were incredibly understanding and sweet. An evening that might have been terrible, ended very pleasantly because of the very nice employees at this spot. 10/10 would recommend.

The ambience was very good, not noisy at all. The service was excellent and attentive. The food was great, served at a slightly slow pace (but the restaurant was full). We enjoyed the meal very much!
