From the moment we were greeted until the evening ended, we experienced impeccable service by a staff that is clearly passionate about what they are a part of, and a insanely creative culinary experience like no other. There is not one thing that I would change! Brava!

10/10An exquisite dining experience. From the moment you enter the restaurant you are warmly greeted and ushered into a gastronomic fantasy land. Everything is explained from the glassware to the ingredients. Wonderful detail. Then comes the dining. Flavor upon flavor uniquely layered. New and exciting taste sensations. Wine pairings were perfect. A lovely trip for your palate right in the center of Amsterdam.

7/10Food not at all on 1-star level, a la carte portions very small, many tastes mixed up without giving the announced tastes and smells some space, turbot as main overcooked, soufflet doughy instead of fluffy. Service good and friendly, nice atmosphere.

8/10The service was spectacular. Congrats to the staff who works in this place. It's perfectly friendly and timed, never overbearing or dismissive. Not so sure about the food. The deer meat tasted too raw and other dishes felt too complicated, looking sophisticated on paper but lacking in taste. The desert was the best part. Thanks to the staff, we left with an overall good impression.

The food presentation was artistic and impressive, but the flavors didn’t fully meet my expectations, with the main course cooked rarer than I prefer—likely a matter of personal taste. The attentive staff was committed to ensuring a good experience, though I chose not to request a replacement dish. The calm, tastefully decorated ambiance made it ideal for conversations. If you enjoy fine dining and value great service, The Bougainville is worth a visit.

10/10Bougainville was an amazing dining experience. The staff was perfectly efficient while being engaging, thoughtful and full of personality. This is a level of service rarely seen in fine dining. The food was exceptional. It was innovative and creative with artistic presentations. In addition, it was delicious! The popcorn and caviar ice cream was outrageous! The wine list was well thought out with plenty of gems from around the world. This was our first visit to Bougainville but we will be back. This is what fine dining at the highest level looks like. Bravo! Bougainville deserves more stars!

+2WOW! I have had a hobby of fine dining for many years, and have been to some extraordinary restaurants. THIS PLACE . . . incredible! So friendly and fun in addition to serving an incredible menu, with each dish looking like an artistic masterpiece, and delicious! AND . . . I so enjoyed NOT being told what kind of wine was served with each course so I could experience it myself before learning about the wine, region, grapes and taste from the wine expert. WONDERFUL!

10/10This is such a great restaurant - everything you would expect from a Michelin star. The atmosphere, the staff and the food. I was blown away by the creativity and favour of the food. Everything perfect on the plate and the tastes in your mouth was amazing. So happy to have gone here and totally worth a visit.

10/10High quality food, exceptional service all set in a very relaxed atmosphere. We opted for the 7 course tasting menu with wine pairing and each course/wine was a wonderful experience. Our sommelier, Melody, was a delight and guided us through our gastronomic adventure with humour and insight. This is a relaxed 5 star venue, not stuffy or quiet, as they played good music at reasonable volume levels that complimented the friendly and attentive nature of their service. Highly recommended!

Perfection in every way. After being named Trip Advisor's number one restaurant in the world, we had to try it. Many restaurants would rest on their laurels, but it appears Restaurant Bougainville has used their exposure to elevate the restaurant even more We started with a drink in the Hotel 27 bar (highly recommend this, it's a beautiful setting and very creative cocktail menu with several unique signature drinks). Once we moved into the dining room, we had the 6 course chef's tasting menu with the wine pairing. Of course the 6 course tasting menu is more like a 12-14 course menu as there are starters, palate cleansers, and other extras. The food is inventive while still being "gourmet comfort" food, and the wine pairings created by Ronald were spectacular. The wine pairings were enhanced by him bringing us the wine first but not telling us what wine it is, then asking us to taste it, then bringing the food to taste again with the pairing. After we were done with the tasting and pairing, he would present the bottle and explain everything about it and why he chose it as a pairing. This way any preconceived notions of various wines did not detract from the pairing. They accommodated a scallop allergy with a dish that was equally amazing. The service was spectacular. I have eaten at many Michelin Star restaurants, and I would rate the food and service here more on par with Michelin 2 star restaurant. It is the best 1 star we have been to.

10/10The combination of the menu with the wine pairing play joyful with your tastes. The ambiance is great - great surrounding & decoration with limited noise. The service was perfect! Everyone from the team welcomed us and facilitated us with enjoying this unique experience. A highly recommended experience for fine dining lovers!

10/10This restaurant was a great find. Delicious and very special. We celebrated my birthday and the whole team made it very special. All meal courses were just delicious. The restaurant decor is gorgeous and very cozy, along with the beautiful music which made the atmosphere very elegant. We will definitely be back.

Better pairing experience than most of the Michelin starred restaurants I've attended over the years; additive and creative, not just stereotypical and predictable. Each course demonstrated a variety of flavor profiles and techniques. I hope to return in the future.

10/10This restaurant is an amazing find. The staff is caring in every aspect of the customer service. The food is incredible. Overall the restaurant ambiance is pleasing and relaxing Could not ask for anything more. Highly recommended. Will definitely go there again next time I’m back in Amsterdam.

10/10This is an exceptionally good restaurant. Service is great, and every single plate is memorable. We had a 5 course dinner and it was outstanding. Also, the appetizers are a great fusion between Mediterranean and oriental cousine. Also wine pairing was excellent made and offered. It delivered it status.
