Outstanding sommelier. Food is not great. Also when it tastes so bad that you can't eat it, the staff just clear it away and throw it in the bin, and don't say anything. Don't they feel ashamed to take your money for this?

The service was incredible all-round, but Ronald was the highlight. He took the time to walk us through the wine pairings in detail and even gave a tour at the end. Truly above and beyond!

Food is tasty well presented and imaginative- a great place to celebrate a special occasion Ambience wise - decor is busy and adding Christmas decorations to an already busy decor is a bit much.

+6I was astounded with the level of service, quality and flavor of the food, and the whole experience. From end to end, the whole dining experience for the “chef’s menu” took a little over 2.5 hours and each dish was delightful. So delightful, I joked to the service staff that this would be my chosen “last meal.” If you are in Amsterdam, you cannot miss this unforgettable experience.

Ronald, the maître d' was excellent! This is our second time there and I've never been disappointed with the food. It's an incredible experience all the way around would highly recommend if you've never been.

This was such an exceptional and lovely dining experience. The service was impeccable, the ambiance was stunning and the tasting menu, was absolutely exquisite! Thank you for being the highlight of my trip to Amsterdam!

The service, the food and the wine pairing were all fantastic. Incredible flavours and combinations. Having the chef come out regularly and introduce some of the courses was super as well. Sommelier was great and very informative.

First, the sommelier didn't seem to be surprised and annoyed when I requested to avoid white wine for the pairing. we had the chance to discover nice red wine during the dinner. The pace was extremely good and the service was discreet as we like. The caviar popcorn became my favourite dessert! The chef and his team deserve more than a one star Michelin.

Great food with surprising combinations and a mix of cuisines. Flawless staff and good wine pairing. Ambiance is tacky / corny and the silver sprayed flower bouquets don’t do the food justice.

An exquisite dining experience. From the moment you enter the restaurant you are warmly greeted and ushered into a gastronomic fantasy land. Everything is explained from the glassware to the ingredients. Wonderful detail. Then comes the dining. Flavor upon flavor uniquely layered. New and exciting taste sensations. Wine pairings were perfect. A lovely trip for your palate right in the center of Amsterdam.

The food was delightful, with the sweetbread being both tasty and unique. The ambiance was great, the service was attentive to detail, and the music was pleasant without being overwhelming. We had a wonderful tasting menu experience.

Food not at all on 1-star level, a la carte portions very small, many tastes mixed up without giving the announced tastes and smells some space, turbot as main overcooked, soufflet doughy instead of fluffy. Service good and friendly, nice atmosphere.

Excellent food and service - food was very innovative and changed cuisine with every course. Superb restaurant and very highly recommended. Will definitely go back again.

The service was spectacular. Congrats to the staff who works in this place. It's perfectly friendly and timed, never overbearing or dismissive. Not so sure about the food. The deer meat tasted too raw and other dishes felt too complicated, looking sophisticated on paper but lacking in taste. The desert was the best part. Thanks to the staff, we left with an overall good impression.

The staff was exceptional. They walked us through every course and were very helpful choosing wine to go with courses. The chef came over to the table to check on our experience. We were very pleased with every course and the flavors were amazing.

If you enjoy fine dining and value great service, The Bougainville is worth a visit.

Bougainville was an amazing dining experience. The staff was perfectly efficient while being engaging, thoughtful and full of personality. This is a level of service rarely seen in fine dining. The food was exceptional. It was innovative and creative with artistic presentations. In addition, it was delicious! The popcorn and caviar ice cream was outrageous! The wine list was well thought out with plenty of gems from around the world. This was our first visit to Bougainville but we will be back. This is what fine dining at the highest level looks like. Bravo! Bougainville deserves more stars!

+2WOW! I have had a hobby of fine dining for many years, and have been to some extraordinary restaurants. THIS PLACE . . . incredible! So friendly and fun in addition to serving an incredible menu, with each dish looking like an artistic masterpiece, and delicious! AND . . . I so enjoyed NOT being told what kind of wine was served with each course so I could experience it myself before learning about the wine, region, grapes and taste from the wine expert. WONDERFUL!
