10/10The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and very inviting. Marco and the staff were highly professional and so friendly. There was no rushing or pressure and the timing of when the food arrived was perfect. All the staff really took care of us and were hugely flexible and accommodating to everything we asked. Now the best part was the food, it was excellent and authentic Italian flavours and style. I can know because I go to Italy a lot. Totally worth it, an Italian gem in Amsterdam. I can only say good things about this restaurant, I would absolutely go back whenever I am Amsterdam. Can highly recommend it!!!!

10/10Everytime time we visit Amsterdam we make a reservation at Risto Enoteca PepeNero and have the same wonderful experience. Excellent food, ambiance and service.

10/10We go to this restaurant when we want to impress our guests visiting us from other countries. We always order spaghetti prepared in the parmesan wheel live next to our table! And the must try dessert is the deconstructed tiramisu. Great food, great service, we'll come back

10/10Lovely restaurant with authentic Italian vibe and food! The staff are amazing and always very welcoming. They had gluten free pasta which makes a gluten intolerant very happy :) we’ll be back!

10/10Really good food and wine, the staff is passionate, and the atmosphère is lovely. Spécial mention of course to the flambée pasta in the massive cheese, which is a show on it's own :)

10/10A great authentic Italian restaurant with a very welcoming host, Marco. We all tried their chefs-choice menu which we didn't regret! Lovely food and great wine - I can highly recommend this place and would love to come back.

10/10This is our favorite Italian restaurant in Amsterdam. The service is warm and attentive. The atmosphere is gezellig and a touch fancy. There are tablecloths and cloth napkins, but good sized portions and no pretentions. The food is high quality and there is a lot of choice for a smallish restaurant. Reserve ahead because tables are hard to get!

8.5/10Just back from vacation in Italy we had some fresh comparisons, the pasta was excellent, the mixed starter dish was ok, but too expensive for what was offered. The meat dish was excellent, the mixed fish platter was ok, but not excellent. In general well above the average Italian in Amsterdam, Price/quality ratio depends on your choices.

10/10We have been in the restaurant during our holidays in Amsterdam, found the place well recommended from few people. The ambience is very nice, cosy and makes me feel in Italy. Then the food: great and fresh products, the Burratina was just amazing and milky; And the Pastas “TOP”, well cooked and very tasty. The service was very attentive and cool! I highly recommend it! 10/10After living in Amsterdam for less than a year, I have finally found THE best Italian restaurant in town! Really cozy atmosphere with dimmed lights, in a beautiful area. Amazing service, staff is really good, multilingual and friendly, they cook some of the dishes in front of you (including spaghetti flambe in a large wheel of parmesan with Brandy Vecchia Romagna), the selection of wine is absolutely fine with wines ranging 20 to 60 Eur. Definitely a place I will visit many times from now! I recommend without any doubt!

10/10PepeNero is the ultimate Italian restaurant in the Netherlands. Great ambiance and a classic menu. If you’re a millennial hipster looking for novelty this restaurant might not be perfect for you, but everybody that truly loves Italian cuisine owes it to themselves to pay them a visit.

9/10The food was excellent. Between 4 of us we had a mix of most of the antipasti for starters and they were very good quality - the ingredients were superb, so he overall effect was great. For mains we covered pesce, carne and pasta and all were superb, often with a slight twist in what was expected (the pesto, for example, was less punchy than usual, more subtle and more enjoyable for that). The service was a bit slow - it took about 40 minutes from ordering to receiving the first course - but that did not detract from the meal. A lovely meal, great quality and well cooked. I hope to come back some day.

10/10As always amazing food, very good service and beautiful pairing wine. We’ve had the mixed anti pasti which was great, then the owner came to me to tell me he had lamb rack fresh delivers apart from the menu and that was amazing. Pasta vongole was amazing as well as my Italian friend told me. Thumbs up!

10/10Really delicious food. Best Italian restaurant in Amsterdam. We went to Italy in the summer and the food in Risto Enoteca PepeNero is even better. The staff is really friendly, we only come twice a year (because we have to save money as students to go out for dinner) and they still remember us. They even gave us advice to reheat the food (I can never finish my plate but still order too much because everything is good). I would recommend the Antipasto misto alla PepeNero (per 2 personen) as appetizer because you can taste all the appetizers at once and then you will know how good they are. Plus the flambé spaghetti is amazing to eat and watch. All the desserts are good, but the Sgroppino is the best we ever had. So if you like Sgroppino then order here.

10/10Wonderful experience, the food excellent the service is personal. The prices are very reasonable. My wife had the four course meal and I had steak with real truffles. All the dishes were super delicious, will definitely go back. Southern Italian cooking rules! :-)

10/10Always a pleasure to eat at Risto Enoteca PepeNero! The atmosphere is gezellig, the service is exceptional and the food...oh, the food! This time I went with my traditional mix: melanzane alla parmigiana, spaghetti al parmigiano con pomodorini and sgroppino. The eggplant was coocked perfectly, the tomato perfectly seasoned and gooey cheese to top it of. The spaghetti brings the show: what can top pasta flambe in a large wheel of parmigiano? Maybe the sgroppino prepared at the table. Overall, as always, a great experience! Will come back for sure!
