Service was excellent. When I mentioned that I am vegetarian, the waiter brought a different amuse bouche. An elegant restaurant. The amuse bouche and our appetizers were excellent. We were disappointed with our main courses (a pasta dish and the cod)

10/10Loved the porcini mushroom and puff pastry/truffle appetizers, as well as the wonderfully tender beef and rack of lamb dishes and the pineapple and basil sorbet dessert. Very good service and an enjoyable soft soundtrack. A most pleasant lunch during a visit to Spoleto.

On holiday and wanted to enjoy a special anniversary dinner. Our food was excellent. We had a lovely table and chose an excellent Montefalco wine. We felt the service was a bit nonchalant at the beginning. It took a while to take our order and we had to pour our own wine but they were a lot more attentive at the end. There was an issue with the bill of a neighbouring table and the way the room is set up means that everyone is aware of it, similarly with waiting staff greeting friends. But food is so good, it makes an evening special.

10/10We are from Canada and got engaged in Umbria last year; we then discovered Apollinare and loved it so much that we promised ourselves to be back this year, the last night before our wedding. It was as good the second time and our young trilingual waiter was charming, adding to the magic of the experience.

8/10The Apollinare restaurant offers an excellent quality of food, with also a fairly large choice, in a pleasant setting in Spoleto's historical centre. While the culinary experience is absolutely to be appreciated and recommended, unfortunately the restaurant surprised us with some unexpected and unfortunate service shortcomings that have lowered its rating. The lack of a proper customers reception when arriving at the restaurant, excessive waiting time between dishes and the need to pay at a small desk, queuing with other paying customers were well below expectations. Pity, because the food, while rather expensive, is truly excellent!

10/10Arguably the most elegant restaurant in Spoleto. The food was superb and the the service was so gracious it rivaled the most refined establishments in great cities. Delighted to find this level of sophistication in an old hilltop town where rustic simple fare is the name of the game in most of the local restaurants. Highly recommend to anyone seeking a special occasion meal while visiting Spoleto.

10/10Fabulous find. Simply cannot fault the first class service; we were greeted and seated immediately upon arrival. The menu is extensive and innovative. We each ordered differing dishes and they were all exceptional. The ambiance is relaxed yet the staff were always attentive. A truly first class restaurant in a unique location. We will be returning.

We had a wonderful experience at Ristorante Apollinare. Our waiter was kind, courteous and very professional. We enjoyed the outside seating. Even though it was very hot, there was a nice breeze and the area was well shaded. The amuse bouche was imaginative and delicious! It was a stuffed cherry tomato with a mixture of bread and tomato and wonderfully seasoned! It was perfect in appearance and was served with pickled red cabbage and slivered almonds. Absolutely Devine! I had the ravioli - stuffed with ricotta and topped with black truffle. It was served with a light tomato, almost a pink, sauce that complimented it well. My husband had the beef with black truffle - another party in the mouth!! I ordered the chocolate dome with pistachio mousse and passion fruit sauce. The flavor combination along with the light, airy consistency of the mousse and crisp chocolate shell made me glad I ordered it - even though I was so full after the meal. It’s a tough job, but someone’s got to do it!???? I highly recommend this restaurant and am very glad we went!

6/10Received a complimentary glass of Prosecco and amuse Bouche. I ordered 3 courses which was too much food. The summer salad was too salty and had too much vinegar. The pasta was delicious and so was the duck. My wife had the cheese in pastry and a pasta. Everything was correct, nothing innovative or really special for 120 euros.

+2Nice cozy restaurant. We went for dinner with the 5 of us, great service and the food was better than expected. Keep in mind to go there on a empty stomach, the portions are quite big, but very tasty! Best crème brûlée I’ve ever had!

8/10Fresh ingredients, wonderful attentive service. But for some reason the dishes -- with the exception of the amazing tomato amuse bouche - were bland and not very creative. Most interesting, although there were black truffles on several dishes, they were almost tasteless, as if they were stale. One could hardly taste them let alone smell the tuffles. Perhaps they were sliced early and lost their taste? Very strange.

9.5/10Delicious food, with a bit of a modern twist, which was much needed as so many restaurants in Italy stick to tradition so as to make them a bit monotonous. The staff were unfailingly kind and attentive. They have an interesting wine list, which unusually for Italy contained a number of orange wines. The restaurant isn’t cheap but felt I paid a fair price for the food, service and a bottle of wine.

10/10Such a special restaurant! We were in Spoleto for a week and this was a highlight of our visit. Service was fantastic. The food was unparalleled. We ensured we each ordered a different 1st and 2nd course to "switch" and ensure we got to enjoy as many plates as we could. We did get the opportunity to chat with the chef and hear about his background too!

10/10This is one of the best dining experiences we can remember in Italy. When we saw the decor we had a feeling that it would be good but it was even better than our expectations. The service is top quality, the food outstanding and the price was very reasonable. The beetroot amuse bouche was outstanding. For example, the Duck Plin pasta was quite amazing with the small parcels and cream with orange spots beautifully presented. I could wax lyrical for ages… a 10/10 dining experience
