10/10We were traveling in Tuscany for the weekend, trying to get away from the crowds and stumbled across this fantastic restaurant. It ended up being one of our most memorable dining experiences, amazing! We arrived Sunday and were prompted greeted by one of the staff. We were offered inside or outside seating, we opted for inside but still had stunning views of the countryside from our table. The staff was very friendly, attentive but not intrusive. The food was outstanding- from the steak tartare, to the pigeon and wild boar ragu- AMAZING! And the desserts, the best zabaione I've ever had. I cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed our experience at Ristorante Conte Matto- I would go back again and again if I could. Thank you!! Lisa M, Los Angeles, CA

Hard to see why this is such a decorated restaurant given that there were few other people there (even on Good Friday) and the food was so poor. Has something changed recently? Our fiorentina steak wasn’t cooked well - too chewy and tough, dry in parts, nor evenly cooked at all. Inadequate knife made life difficult. Limp side salad without any dressing, could have been from the supermarket. Chicken dish lacked any kind of sauce, again dry.

I would avoid this restaurant at all costs! I drove 30 minutes in the dark and winding roads of Tuscany to get to this place and the service I got was abysmal! No smile, no nothing . Everyone was curt and don’t even engage in small talk. I mean, they’re not that busy that they can’t even offer a smile, right? Also, I booked 2 months ago and said that it’s to celebrate my partner’s birthday. They only offered a candle, which means I have to order and pay for the dessert. Not really the best experience. Even then, I ordered the dessert. When it came, it was a splat of crème on a plate, and there’s a candle put clumsily on it. The server just put down the plate in front of my partner without any smile nor any birthday greeting. No nothing. Just rudely put the plate on the table and left. The food is mediocre - same quality as everywhere else in Tuscany. There’s nothing special. You’d be a lot better off elsewhere. Give this one a miss.

5.5/10Restoration is positioned in small old city with good view. This was our fourth restaurant in Tuscany, but service and price quality ratios was very bad. Dishes was only interesting but nothing more. Service was slow and with lots mistakes.

5.5/10The restaurant location was lovely. We were seated by our host who unfortunately was not very warm or welcoming. Half of any dining experience is the interaction between the host and the guests. The gentleman serving some other tables was engaging and friendly. Our lady server was not. We left the restaurant after paying the bill unfortunately remembering the poor atmosphere caused by our lady waitress and not the food

+1This restaurant had a varied menu of great choices. We enjoyed eggplant flan appetizer, potato gnocchi with a fabulous fresh twist of pesto which included mint, 12 hr slow cooked duck and roasted potatoes & spinach which were very well prepared and seasoned. Dessert was amazing too! Highly recommend also for attentive service, wine options and ambiance!

9/10THis was flagged up on the Fork as a vegetarian friendly restuarant, however, the normal menu have only 2 or 3 items in all! They are able toi prepare more with advance notice. However, the staff are lovely and very helpful, the food we had was good and setting is wonderful, especially the terrace. Worth a visit in Trequanda, Tuscany.

This restaurant which also offers a "vinoteca" (which is very well equipped), or perhaps the other way around, was great for a delightful evening. Due to the possibility of booking online with instant confirmation, the reservation process was easy and very pleasant. The service was good and attentive when present. The owner personally took care of us, most of the time, and served as our personal sommelier. The food and drinks were delivered in a timely manner. The food was good. I would give it a 3.5/5 overall. Especially the bruschetta with their “personal” olive oil and the steak with three varieties of salt are worth a try. Thank you for the evening!

7/10The food is great but the menu very standard, we would have liked a little more creativity and in particular, more vegetarian options, or fish. All main courses are meat-based. The service was nice but not very personal, we had different waiters at every turn and no particular attention was given to advising us on food or wine. We were served a 2018 wine instead of a 2016 (for the same price). The ambiance is nice but gets very noisy, too bad it was raining because the terrace is wonderful.

We loved the food and the wine, the good service of the friendly staff and the view over the Tuscany hills from our table at the terrace. At the reservation with The Fork I asked for pur last night in Italy for a table on the terrace with a good view outside and we got this table! We had the raviolli, the pasta with duck ragout, the perfectly baked steak (we asked for a little bit red inside/medium) and ofcourse the wonderfull tiramisu. Our little girls loved the pasta and chocolade desert. Also we were glad that the staff spoke very good English! And bonus: the prices are realistic and not to high at all! We hope we can come back someday (soon). Rotterdam, The Netherlands

10/10Tuscany, early summer - a table for two on the terrace, looking west across ranges of hills and mountains as the sun sets. Tagliatelli with truffles, gnocchi with pesto, tagliata cooked to perfection. Another great night with hosts David and Aino - what a superb restaurant.
