10/10Really superb food, very warm and friendly service, great location. So reasonable prices for such a wonderful meal experience! Not to be missed in Parma. Selection of wines is another plus for Gallo d'Oro. Yet another great advantage is that Gallo d'Oro does not close after lunch. For people like us who prefer an early dinner, this is a definite plus. Their whole staff deserve a heartfelt thanks for this. 🙏🙏🙏 We'll definitely come back.

10/10We were greeted with a warm welcome by professional waiting staff, who spoke excellent English. The menu was varied and reflected local cuisine. Each course was presented beautifully and priced very reasonably for the quality of food, service, ambiance and the restaurant itself. We ate at the same venue the following evening.

Everything was beyond excellent. The appetizers and entrees our group of 7 had were exceptional. Tartufo ravioli, capellini in brodo, papardelle to name a few. Wonderful cheese and salumi plates with balsamic vinegar and honey. Desserts are outstanding as well. Creme brulee is amazing. Service was top notch too. When in Parma, definitely stop here.

8/10All was great. Food and service. My truffle pasta wasn't hot enough but my husband's Pork ragu was steaming and wonderful. Service people were very helpful and food tastey. We would return.

10/10What a fantastic dining experience! Ristorante Gallo d’Oro offers both charm and elegance right in the heart of Parma. The ravioli was absolutely exceptional—delicate, perfectly cooked, and bursting with flavor. The lamb chops were another standout: tender, juicy, and expertly seasoned. You can really tell the ingredients are top-quality, and the care put into each dish is obvious. The service was warm and attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere made it feel like a special occasion. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Italian cuisine!

3/10Recommended by some friends, we've expected a nice ambiente and good food. The "tortelli" typical pasta were without character and the pumpkin filling with no taste. We tasted something longer better at lunch in a simpler place. The roasted veal came cold with still half-frozen potatoes, so we had to send it back to reheat it. But even so, it came back with no taste at all and the potatoes were still then typical frozen industrial ones. Never ever again!!

10/10This restaurant was suggested by our apartment owner and it was delicious. My potato raviolis were some of the best I’ve tasted. Service was timed perfectly. Ambiance was great. We sat in the solarium during a tremendous rain storm and it added to the charm of Parma. We highly recommend this place to everyone.

8/10Two of our three dishes - slow cooked octopus and rack of lamb - were absolutely divine, but the third - tagliatelle with a duck ragu - was very ordinary. The gnocco fritto (local specialty puffed fried bread) was also really good. The dining room was pretty and mostly quiet. Location right in the central old town was convenient. However, the service was haphazard and sort of chaotic. I think they must have been understaffed, because the waiters were running around like rats in a maze. The grilled vegetables we had ordered to go with our meal were forgotten until we flagged down a scurrying waiter when we were already half finished, and then they finally arrived after we had finished everything else. Admittedly, the vegetables were delicious, but there was no excuse for that level of service.

10/10Our service provided by Demitrio was SPECTACULAR! He was kind, humourous, and patient with our pseudo-Italiano/english. He guided us on excellent food choices; and my brilliant bottle of wine was very good! He is a keeper and the Gallo D’Oro company is LUCKY to have him working there. Please take good care of him!! I lived in Parma 30 years ago and loved the Gallo D’Oro Ristorante. I love it even more now!

5/10Despite having allergen information on menu, when we chose an item indicated without gluten we were told it couldn’t be prepared with an allergy due to cross contamination concerns. The only acceptable dish was risotto. Most restaurants will be more accommodating.

4.5/10Service was bad (many items forgotten) we had 3 different waiters. Food was very mediocre, worst Al Ragu i ate in Italy, de coteletta served was cold. At least we got a discount when the last waiter realised how bad our experience was. Would not recommend.

10/10My husband and I enjoyed the charcuterie board with mixed meats. I especially loved the little “fried dough” squares—so delicate yet chewy and flavorful. We enjoyed our ravioli dishes, and my husband (a self-proclaimed brûlée expert) said his dessert was superb. We never felt rushed or ignored, the service was just right. We would come again!
