10/10Our service provided by Demitrio was SPECTACULAR! He was kind, humourous, and patient with our pseudo-Italiano/english. He guided us on excellent food choices; and my brilliant bottle of wine was very good! He is a keeper and the Gallo D’Oro company is LUCKY to have him working there. Please take good care of him!! I lived in Parma 30 years ago and loved the Gallo D’Oro Ristorante. I love it even more now!

5/10Despite having allergen information on menu, when we chose an item indicated without gluten we were told it couldn’t be prepared with an allergy due to cross contamination concerns. The only acceptable dish was risotto. Most restaurants will be more accommodating.

4.5/10Service was bad (many items forgotten) we had 3 different waiters. Food was very mediocre, worst Al Ragu i ate in Italy, de coteletta served was cold. At least we got a discount when the last waiter realised how bad our experience was. Would not recommend.

10/10My husband and I enjoyed the charcuterie board with mixed meats. I especially loved the little “fried dough” squares—so delicate yet chewy and flavorful. We enjoyed our ravioli dishes, and my husband (a self-proclaimed brûlée expert) said his dessert was superb. We never felt rushed or ignored, the service was just right. We would come again!

10/10Everything from the consistently amazing food to the very friendly and capable waitstaff is exactly what you can expect each time you go to this very popular place. You cannot go wrong if you are looking for a wonderful Parma restaurant to try foods from the region.

4.5/10This was easily our worst dining experience in the 2 weeks we've been in Italy. 1.5 hours before we recieved our pasta course, wine bottle sat empty for over an hour. Our server left mid meal and didn't come back, thankfully a waiter eventually noticed that we hadn't been attended to in over an hour and helped. The Parma Meats and Cheeses were good, both the truffle risotto and poached egg with truffle dishes were not good and only a few bites were eaten of either. The restaurant didn't have a sharp knife to cut the lamb chops that would only rip with the table knife. The insalata mista was bad iceberg lettuce and purple cabbage. The guancale with onions was the best dish that we tried that was made in House.

10/10We loved the cappelletti in brodo in particular. The lemon sorbet served in a champagne glass as a desert was just the right thing to have at a hot summer night. Fabulous friendly service. Loved it.

10/10Delicious food, served with a smile. I’m always a little bit intimidated because I don’t speak Italian (working on it lol) but everyone was so friendly. Had the best seat, getting to watch the young man cut up their insane selection of cheeses and meats. A must go when in Parma! Definitely make reservations so you don’t miss the opportunity to eat here!

6.5/10This restaurant came highly recommended by friends. Service was terrible, the waiter did not understand English and made no effort to understand us or call somebody else did. He seemed frustrated and had no patience. The service was very, very slow; it took several times for us to ask the waiter when the food was coming. Waiter did not approach us after taking our order. Finally food came in and when we finally finished our main course, the salad came in last (he obviously forgot).

7.5/10Food was very good but the dining experience was let down by the use of online translation of the menu. The online translation was totally inadequate to describe the dishes on offer. I would hesitate to recommend this restaurant unless you are proficient in Italian.

9.5/10Great food, good service, easy to get to in the Old Town. We noticed a lot of locals seem to dine here. We were early (7:30) but by the time we left, it was full. Staff very helpful and answered any questions. Great “house” wine by 1/2 or full litre. Be sure and visit the area downstairs (where you need to pass to go to restroom). It’s like stepping back in time!

8/10I came just to try the tortelli and all three flavors (herb, cheese and pumpkin) were delicious. My favorite was the pumpkin. They charged me a €3 service fee on a €13 dish, which is over 20% for service that was a little scattered, but I'm glad I came. It's probably better with a larger group to order a few things to split.

9.5/10We had received a recommendation for this restaurant from friends who had eaten there about twenty years ago. They must be doing something right when they are still existing and are still serving their guests with enthusiasm and hospitality. Any time again!
