8/10A strange experience. Food ok but not exceptional. Service random. Second time at San Pietro. Their Fork rating is higher than deserve. Better choices elsewhere.

10/10The food was amazing and the service even better! We had tortellini in cream sauce, tagliatelle with bolognese ragu, and lasagna. Good wine and grappa, and complimentary limoncello and meloncello…so good! Highly recommend!

The only thing I noticed, is that some plates have become smaller with the years. The portion of the salumi plater for example, or the tagliata or even the vegetables before they used to add more.

10/10We have been coming here consistently for the last three years whenever we are in Bologna, the service is excellent and friendly, the food is wonderful, and the ambiance is nice, just far enough away from the tourist madness of the Piazza. They have a wider variety of foods, not just the tortellini or lasagna, but also good meats and seafood to offer some change from the Bologna standards. I haven’t had their pizza but I assume good as I notice many local Italians who come and order the pizza! The service staff has been the same since we have been coming and they are hardworking and yet remain so friendly with their excellent service, we always make sure to leave with a photo with them! Definitely worth putting on your must do list! Mangia! Mangia! Grazie mille!

It's obvious that, compared to all the thousands of people who have visited us in the 10 years we've been open, you have completely different dietary needs. Calling us incompetent in our work is going too far. We hope you find places somewhere in the world that meet all your needs.

10/10The dishes were very well presented. All the staff were friendly, yet very professional and efficient. Not often do you see a waiter jogging back to the kitchen in effort to ensure entrée’s are out quickly! Roberto (head waiter) was attentive to all patron’s needs and directed staff in a quiet efficient manner. Would highly recommend and would definitely return if ever in Bologna again.

2.5/10We didnt actually end up staying for dinner as the service was so poor. We arrived on time and waited several minutes before we were seated at a table that was very unstable and one of the chairs was placed on a big ridge in the footpath. We had to ask them to stabilise the table. Eventually the waiter came and asked if we would like water. We said yes, and some wine please. He said he would get the wine later. We waited 25 minutes and the waiters and sommelier still hadnt come to ask for our orders. Eventually we left, offering to pay for our water, but the maitre de refused to take our payment and said we should be more respectful as this was a good restaurant. I’m sure the food would have been good, but the attitude of the waiting staff was rude and arrogant. Unless you’ve got a lot of time on your hands and infinite patience I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.

10/10We had different dishes and shared them. We had the Tagliatelle with Ragu, the Tortellini on broth, the duck and the fish balls, Pizza Margarita and fries. All dishes very good. We also had a bottle of red wine, a Fondatori Sangiovese Superiore Riserva 2021 from Merlotta.

10/10As soon as we arrived by Taxi, we were greeted by a friendly waiter. Throughout the evening, the staff were very professional but able to have a bit of craic which made us feel welcomed and relaxed. The quality of the food was superb and the finishing touch was being left with a bottle each of lemoncello and meloncello to finish a fantastic evening meal off at our leisure. :)

10/10Lovely and friendly service. Excellent for both pizza and pasta, in case you have two kids like me and one eats only the former and the other only the latter. Excellent tortellini both in brodo and in cream.

4.5/10There’s so much hassle by the waiters, they want to push you out as soon as you sit…order, eat and go in an hour…if I wanted a fast dinner I could have gone to Mc Donald’s around the corner. Will not recommend this place to anyone again. Had a very bad night with my family here, not fair at all!

San Pietro is a true gem! The food was outstanding, the service impeccable and the staff truly attentive to your dining needs. The thing that puts them over the top and makes this Ristorante so special is the caring of the two owners. The two brothers are deeply involved in every aspect and ensured that we had a perfect experience. We have challenges with walking and they even made sure we got transportation! Thank you for a wonderful evening.

10/10Everything about this restaurant is of the highest possible quality. The food is fresh, brilliantly cooked and beautifully presented. Everything you would expect from a a high quality restaurant. We had the most amazing food bursting with fresh flavour and served by waiters that really enjoyed their work. If you are in Bologna, this is THE restaurant!

9/10Excellent traditional food. Attentive service but can get a little slow because the waiters get stretched trying to serve too many guests. One warning: portion sizes are big, especially the antipasti. Each antipasto will feed two. And the food is rich. That said, we would all go back.

6.5/10Unfortunately all the employers were agresive and had a bad attitude with us. They had a problem with the fact that not all of us knew italian and a friend was translating, they thought that probably we were saying something bad, but it was not the case. After the restaurant was full, i didn’t saw this kind of behavior throughout other clients. The food is amazing, but we have a bad memory and probably next time for sure we will not come again here.

A quirky trattoria with a delightful menu of Bolognese treats. We had respectively traditional mixed salumi and cheese platter and tortellini in broth to start and wonderful grilled lamb and amazing tuna encrusted in seeds (theatrically presented in smoke under a cloche). Excellent attentive service added to this great dining experience. Booking essential.
