10/10The ambiance and service are excellent. The waiters were excellent with service at a level that is hard to find today. The food was very good, had a traditional cod dish and grilled octopus. Oysters were excellent. Will definitely go back in the future.

7.5/10We were looking for a typical Portuguese dining experience and were recommended Restaurant Sancho. First impression on arrival was pleasing but the over attentive nature of staff left us feeling that decisions of menu choice and wine were made for us rather than letting us choose freely ….. it wasn’t after all, “table d’hôte” or a restaurant “taster” menu. No complaints about the quality of the food nor the pared wine that was indeed selected for us. Opportunity to decide on dessert was a rushed affair with a rather “fast” trolley, all of which looked delicious but we don’t do dessert as a rule. We considered a “porto” and were offered the waiter’s choice rather than a recommendation from the list. We declined but were given a complimentary vintage, perhaps to ease any misunderstanding? On the bill, there was a significant cover charge plus one for cheese on the table upon arrival despite the menu stating otherwise unless ordered by the customer. A bitter sweet experience overall.

8.5/10Food was excellent. We had early reservations so noise was moderate. Two servers for room of 12 tables. Server was assertive on what dishes he wanted you to order. Attentive when food was coming out, but very hard to get his attention as tables filled. We waited 30 minutes to get bill after getting his attention.

8.5/10Good environment, very good service. What is not good is to be charged at the end for olives and water with not advise. Something that should be remediated in benefit of the restaurante qualification.

4/10Mediocre food, nothing special. From the moment we arrived one of the waiters was just rude. We were made to feel as though we were an inconvenience. Really off putting and disappointing. Not much of an atmosphere either.

9.5/10This centrally located restaurant is truly affordable. its a bit old school ( including a dessert cart and a very bright dining area) , but that is part of its particular appeal. the waiters know their food and wine inside out and the produce is fresh and on display. the food is traditional, no bells and whistles and simply delicious. I wouldnt recommend it for an intimate night, but for a good meal before going on for a drink somewhere else, absolutely.

9.5/10We ordered based on suggestions from our waiter and they were excellent! He also helped with a wine suggestion which was also wonderful. The wait staff was dry attentive without hovering. The food was deliciously prepared and elegantly presented. Could not have asked for a better meal on our first visit to Lisbon.

10/10Wonderful place with great food and terrific staff. Both the seafood and the beef were excellent, and our waiter was very helpful in recommending a good wine pairing. Dessert was also quite good, I recommend the almond cake if they have it.

9.5/10Exceptional service and quality of the food! We weren’t very hungry and ordered two starters and decided to divide one main dish, which they gladly accepted (it was a very pleasant surprise, as I don’t think anyone would let us divide the main dish in another restaurant of this rang). What’s more, when it came the time for the desert, they offered us to take one half of one desert and another of half of a different one - again that’s something I haven’t seen any restaurant to propose ever, but it was incredibly kind of Sancho. We will return there 100%.

8/10This is a beautiful and spotlessly clean restaurant. The food was very good and the service excellent. It was very quiet and for some of the time we were the only guests in the restaurant.

10/10We went there straight after we landed as our hotel was very close. Our flight was slightly delayed so we got there a bit later than anticipated. But staff were extremely accommodating. Food was amazing too.
