We had an unforgettable dining experience at Shin in Rotterdam. It truly felt like we were transported to Japan. The food was exquisite, showcasing authentic flavors and meticulous presentation. The service was impeccable, with every staff member attentive and friendly. Our server, though not of Japanese origin, was incredibly knowledgeable and made us feel incredibly comfortable and welcome throughout our meal

The food was great - the miso butter salmon, the tuna carpaccio, the grilled wagyu beef, the grilled wakame, as well as the different chicken were delicious. The cocktails were very good too. The service staff were very nice, knowledgeable and attentive. The atmosphere is “industrial”. While I like industrial style, it was a bit too much of for a cold, dark autumn night… I can certainly recommend this place to everyone who loves authentic Japanese cuisine and wants to eat something else than sushi.

Perfect little restaurant for an easy but high quality meal, alone or for couples. The menu is simple but each dish is high quality and very fresh. The selection of sake and Japanese whisky is great (Although I did not try it myself).

I had received a restaurant voucher for my birthday and Shin Restaurant was on the list so after checking the website made a reservation for two persons. As soon as we stepped into the restaurant we were greeted by friendly staff and shown to our table. After explaining the sharing concept, our hostess took our drinks order and we delved into the menu. We made a good choice for starters - octopus balls, crispy tacos with shrimps and and wajang seaweed - all delicious Then for our main to share we had exquisite tuna carpaccio, sea scallops and finally the grilled Wagyu Japanese beef - this was all mouthwatering!! Finally desert as recommended by the owner - Nanako - we had Japanese short cake and Matcha Tiramisu to share Certainly worth visiting again!
