10/10What a nice place almost touching the water and its boats. Good food, friendly staff en not only fish :) we had a lovely vitello and pasta pesto, nice wine. Quiet and a bit further away from all tourists restaurants.

4/10Staff was nice but not professional. The price are tourist traps. Food is not worth the price at all. They were serving old bread and not selfmade. I have been to way fancier places where spaghetti were not 54€ and were way better. I would never go there again.

7/10We went for lunch after a hotel concierge and the taxi driver recommended. We thought we weee in for a great seafood meal even they said their special dish was a past “made “ inside a cheese . In reality comes done in a frying pan from the kitchen any then tossed into the cheese and a bit of a mix in there for a tourist show purpose . My friend had a vongole past ( we could count the vongole in the plate - few of them ) , my dish was the pasta with langoustine . It was ok, nothing that we would rush back in there to eat again ! Service was very good and friendly ! Food pretensious

10/10An absolutely fantastic meal for 18 of us. The restaurant staff could not have been more attentive and everything was absolutely delicious. Such great find!

10/10Thank you for a wonderful dining experience! The staff was amazing, the food unbelievably devious. Would definitely recommend this restaurant. We almost canceled out reservation due to a bad post! So happy that our conceriege told us not to cancel!!!!

10/10We arrived in a total storm. The restaurant lost power a few times, but they handled it well. The service was outstanding, the food was delicious. Highly recommend. Its also away from the craziness of the town. Great views

10/10A beautiful evening on the water’s edge in Portofino with my husband and two teenage children. Delicious food and great wine list. The highlight was definitely the truffle pasta, but every dish was gorgeous.

8.5/10The food was absolutely beautiful. The truffle pasta was heavenly. I had the scampi and prawn grill which would literally two languages and like prawns. At €40 it is quite expensive. Everybody else had pasta which was the smallest pasta dish I have ever seen. Having said this I would go there again and again as the location is really what you’re paying for the atmosphere is superb,

10/10The reservation went smooth and the restaurant was directly on the harbor, the service was excellent and the waiter was so polite, the food quantity and quality was great I’ll repeat the visit again and every time ????

10/10The food was delicious and worth every penny. The service was great. We ordered Pasta with porcini and truffles, Zuppa Di mare, and Bronzini - these were all excellent choices suggested to us by the Waiter.

5/10The food was good, right in front of the marina, great view of Portofino. However, the waiters were incredibly rude when we ordered parmesan cheese assuming it was for our pasta with seafood, which we understand is a sin in Italy. Regardless that it was for our kids´ pasta bolognese, they have no right to make fun of us in Italian. Very unfortunate... they didn´t know we also spoke the language. Don´t go here if you want a respectful dining experience.

however it is not diapetous trying to help and teach you the Italian culture especially if you understand the language. I am sorry that this malaise has not been addressed here by us and yes in a review.

10/10We were delighted. The food was excellent. You must try their specialty pasta it was beyond words. The fresh fish prepared with potatoes was melting in our mouths. We loved the service and Strainer was the highlight of the day.

10/10Absolutely one of the best spots in Portofino for a quiet romantic dinner. Staff was excellent and very friendly. Asked for recommendations of their favorite dishes and was not disappointed. Will definitely be back!

6.5/10Nice position in the harbour side.initially we were given menus which had no pizzas on it ( the next table we’re eating pizza) in asking she did bring us another menu ( definitely felt as though we were given the tourist menu) 2 of the party ordered the carbonara as a starter , this was brought out in bowls whilst once again the next table had theirs prepared at the table in a large Parmesan bowl. The pizzas were not good ( very crispy with minimum cheese) Overall I felt as though they could not really be bothered which was a shame as we had decided this was going to be a long extravagant lunch to savour overlooking the beautiful port. I know most people don’t return but a bit more interest would have been appreciated.

Gentile signora il servizio pizza lo facciamo per accontentare qualche bambino che non vuole mangiare piatti di altro genere anche perché noi siamo un ristorante non una pizzeria. Per quanto riguarda la carbonara possiamo assicurare che dentro la forma di formaggio facciamo solo ed esclusivamente I TAGLIOLINI CON IL TARTUFO e FUNGHI PORCINI .Ci dispiace non averle dato il le attenzioni da lei desiderate ma le assicuro che siamo molto premurosi con le persone che ci hanno scelto..

5.5/10Disappointing experience. Food was fine though. But treatment ruined the whole experience. If you are not a VIP, would not recommend dining there as you will be served last. This is not a recurring theme in town as we were served and treated well when we had drinks and appetizers at another terrace across the water.

10/10Great restaurant with an amazing view yet a little away from the crowd! Excellent service! The owner is really nice! We had the sea bass prepared Ligurian style and it was to die for???????? The pesto pasta was delicious. But the best pasta I ever had was made with mushrooms and prepared in a cheese wheel with shaved truffles. The owner very so generous with the truffles. We also had the yellow mushroom salad which is only in season for a month and loved it! Don’t miss this amazing restaurant!

10/10Everything was amazing, from beginning to end. The service was warm and friendly, and the food was some of the best we've ever had. We would particularly recommend the home made tagliolini with truffles, and also the whole fish cooked Ligurian style. We will remember our experience at Restaurant Strainer forever, and we can't wait to return!
