We had a great dinner at Taberna da Baixa. The food was excellent and the staff were so helpful and lovely. Clams to start for me then we both had slow cooked black pork with smashed potatoes which was delicious. Great wine too plus a complimentary glass of Ginja. Must get some of that! The restaurant is quite small so it would probably be a good idea to book ahead. A lovely evening.

The restaurant was recommended by our hotel, and after checking out the reviews - booked online (recommend booking as it was busy). It's a cosy restaurant with good ambience. Our waiter did speak English and highlighted some options. We had the pork cheeks and sirloin. Cooked beautifully, and both meats melted away. The restaurant did take note it was my husband's birthday and they brought out a complimentary dessert and wished him well. All in all a very pleasant evening.

To start I had the cod and sprouts gratin which was a hearty dish. For my main course I had an excellent sirloin steak topped with a delicious sauce. To finish I had a the poached pear and ice cream which was a great way to finish my meal with a dish that was full of flavour and light.

We have been to this Portuguese restaurant twice and loved each visit. Small quaint ambiance with friendly service and great recommendations/descriptions. The risotto and octopus were delectable! We finished our meal with the port soaked pear and ice cream and a complimentary ginjinha!

The staff were so friendly and the food was absolutely delicious! There was a great atmosphere of everyone enjoying themselves. Make sure you book so you don't miss out! We will definitely be coming back when we are next in Lisbon. Obrigado!

Excellent and friendly service. A great buzz in the restaurant. We were with a few other tables on diners in the small mezz floor looking over ground floor of restaurant. Food was very good although I found my steak bebab a bit tougher than I would have expected. Others in ground all enjoyed their fish dishes. Would definitely visit again.

This was the first dinner in Lisbon and I picked it because it was 5 minutes from our hotel. It was wonderful! I had the pork cheek dish, family had the shrimp and risotto all were happy. Definitely book for a great dinner.

The dishes had obviously been precooked and then reheated in their individual little pans..Result was overcooked and dry. After 2 weeks in Portugal am sad to say this was my worst meal

A small cosy restaurant. The waiter who looked after us was very friendly and informative, he advised us on the wine and allowed us to taste two different ones before choosing . The food was delicious especially the seafood rice caldoso we ordered one pot and then a second it was so good .

We sat upstairs overlooking the main seating area and our waiter Luan was delightful and served us wonderful food and wine. We also visited with several other patrons and shared experiences. We would definitely go back when next visiting Lisbon.

Traditional Portuguese taverna, outstanding staff. Black pork cheeks were amazing as were the prawns. Returned the following evening, dispite there being so many other places to eat.
