10/10We sat upstairs overlooking the main seating area and our waiter Luan was delightful and served us wonderful food and wine. We also visited with several other patrons and shared experiences. We would definitely go back when next visiting Lisbon.

10/10Traditional Portuguese taverna, outstanding staff. Black pork cheeks were amazing as were the prawns. Returned the following evening, dispite there being so many other places to eat.

9.5/10The service was very good. My husband had grilled sardines and I had garlic shrimp. Both were very reasonably priced and delicious. We had the Porto tasting and it was wonderful. I mentioned early in the evening that it was my birthday and they brought me dessert and sang to me. Highly recommend!

9.5/10This little restaurant was a gem. Food was excellent and beautifully presented. The small dining room was very intimate and cheerful. Wait staff were a great help in making selections. Make reservations, there may still be a short wait.

10/10If you want great food served by welcoming staff in a friendly little restaurant, this is the place to go. We were recommended by our hotel and we weren't disappointed. A lovely mix of people of various nationalities, some of whom enjoyed chatting with other guests. Would go back any day.

10/10Beautiful authentic Portuguese meal. We shared a mixed starter and my husband had the shrimp and beef skewer, I had pork fillet in Taberna sauce. Service was excellent and the food was tasty with generous portions. I would happily recommend this restaurant to my friends

7/10Seems to be one of these Lisbon tourist-trap restaurants with a higher-priced menu ready to present us naive visitors! Food choices and prices on menu given didn't match menus we'd seen online nor in window of restaurant! Food was just okay, disappointing to be honest. Sister had cod risotto, I had a shrimp risotto. Both quite bland and also under-seasoned.

However, we think it is important that you know that our restaurant has been in existence for 10 years and we have a lot of respect for our customers, so we will never be a tourist trap restaurant or anyone else and this is supported by the great reviews we have here and abroad. platforms and many regulars who are local and appreciate good Portuguese food.

5/10Satisfactory food, although the prices are somewhat excessive for Portugal, considering the quality of the products. Upon our arrival, the reception was very impersonal despite my prior reservation, with an outdoor wait in the rain. No initiative was taken to temporarily seat me in the entrance while waiting for my table to become available. Once seated, we noticed that our table was positioned near a cabinet housing the electrical panel, which unfortunately caused several disruptions throughout the evening. Despite these incidents, our understanding led to our collaboration with the staff to resolve the electrical issues. However, after these inconveniences, we hoped for appropriate compensation. Nevertheless, no form of compensation such as coffee, dessert, or even a digestive was offered by the establishment. The apologies presented proved inadequate. Furthermore, at the time of payment, I had to personally take charge of the payment terminal, as the waitress was unable to do so. In summary, I do not recommend this restaurant if you are seeking attentive service. Even some fast-food establishments in Switzerland offer better customer service. Sincerely, Fabio

10/10Small and charming with authentic Portuguese food. Waitress was very helpful with menu selections and wines. It was perfect meal for 4 people sharing. We had 4 tapas and two entrees (rice with seafood and special pork dish - both amazing!) Lovely bottle of red wine from the Douro Valley. Would go back I. A heartbeat.

10/10Some of the best dishes I’ve had in Lisbon. If you come here, you have to order the charcuterie with the pumpkin spread (life changing)

10/10Perfect neighborhood spot especially to get shared plates- we had the shrimp, octopus salad ( small portion) , bread, and large sardines plus desert - the large sardines were my favorite / very tasty and crispy and a large portion- would recommend but I’d probably get the warm lobster instead of the salad

10/10My wife and I shared two tapas dishes and each had a main. That was more than enough food. Everything was delicious. The restaurant is small 8 tables on the lower level and a few above the bar. Service was terrific and as a result we had a wonderful meal.

9/10Food and service was excellent up until the very end with a US credit card payment. Most places you tap your card and that’s it. However, here they play the currency conversion game with their card reader. I received a 5% upcharge on top of the conversion rate. I just wanted to pay in euros and remember the great meal but left disappointed that they played a petty money grab game. They will say it’s for my convenience and that I had a choice but it shows where their heart is. It’s totally unnecessary.

We appreciate your review and want to clear up the misunderstanding about conversion. We gain absolutely nothing from the conversion. The system is computerized and the conversion takes place based on the card being foreign. When paying, you can choose which currency you want to pay in and it is the customer who chooses. We only receive the bill amount.

10/10We really enjoyed the friendly service and excellent food at Taberna da Baixa. The tiny space packs them in which lends itself to a fun atmosphere without being staged or phony. Get a reservation in advance ( via The Fork, of course).

10/10This cozy wonderful restaurant was a highlight of our stay here in Lisboa. The delectable dishes, great wine selection, and service were superb. We returned almost daily, even while trying other restaurants. The staff took great care of us. We felt like family, just being there. Already planning our return visit to Lisboa because of this little gem in the heart of everything.

6/10Ambient was nice but extremely hot, which made the dinner a bit uncomfortable. Choice was good and varied, got some mixed appetizers which were quite tasty and then 4 main dishes which included a steak and a bacalao (which was excellent), accompanied by a bottle of "verde" wine which was ok. I got disappointed when we received the bill as the Portos (x2) we had were severely overpriced and, when suggested by the waiter, she forgot to mention the "well above average" price each (20 Eur). So we had some good food, not cheap but for an explainable price, but the Porto spoiled it all frankly speaking. Order with the cart at hand!
