Madras Diaries in Utrecht is my new favorite spot for its amazing food, refreshing drinks and friendly service. Mahesh’s Virgin Mango Mojito, Rose Milk and customized mocktails / cocktails are a must try. Dharanni’s warm hospitality adds to the experience infact everyone’s they have amazing people working there. The food is consistently flavorful. I’ve enjoyed dishes like Thattu Idli, Podi Bonda, Korma with Cheese Garlic Naan and Parotta as well as their vegetarian biryani, Gobi 65 and Jaituni Broccoli. Don’t miss the Cheese Chili Dosa, Mysore Dosa, Beetroot Bonda or their delightful Watalappan dessert. Great ambiance, delicious food, highly recommended!

The food was mediocre. There was no energy in the atmosphere. The staff did their job but were not efficient and didn’t give one the feeling that they were enjoying and willing to do more than just their job. A pity because with a few adjustments and training the place has potential to be wow and vibrant.

You get to sit and soak the authentic south indian ambience, appreciate the wide variety of south indian dishes in a big heavy menu book and then place an order and finally enjoy the food served in nice cutlery. All in all fantastic south indian cuisine based experience. I though would not say the same for the north indian dishes on the menu.
